“You’re welcome, by the way. But a lot of credit should go to Alicia. She’s the one who convinced me it was a good thing.”

“Speaking of Alicia, how’s she doing?” CT asks.

Lightning lights up. “Very well. She surprised me by getting back into skydiving last year. I didn’t think she would, considering what happened with her dad.”

Thunder set his glass down. “I still don’t understand why you don’t go with her.”

Lightning’s smile falls. “Hey, I jump out of planes and helicopters enough on the job. It doesn’t excite me. Besides, I think she prefers going with Ozzie over me.”

CT laughs. “Wait, you let Ozzie go out with your woman?”

I arch a brow at CT.

He holds up his hands. “No offense. I’ve heard you’re good with the ladies.”

And even though he doesn’t mean anything by it, it still pisses me off.

“Not anymore,” I say and leave it at that.

“Wow, you do have it bad for Durango’s cousin. What are you going to do about it?” CT asks.

All the guys are staring at me, waiting for my response.

“We were going to talk to him, but then Piper’s ex ruined that plan.”

“Excuse me, guys, I need to take this,” Lightning says as he holds up his phone.

He steps away, and I turn to Thunder.

“How’s Madison?”

He grins. “She’s good.”

“Is she still using you to choreograph her sex scenes?” CT asks.

Madison is Thunder’s girlfriend, and she’s also a romance author. Thunder made the mistake one night—after a few drinks—of telling us she uses him to make sure her sex scenes are more accurate. He pretty much threatened us if we keep bringing it up. But since CT works out of the Seattle office, he wasn’t a part of that threat.

I stifle a grin as Thunder shakes his head.

“She’s notusingme. I’m all for trying new things. But don’t ask what they are. I’m not going there.”

“Maybe I’ll ask Madison,” CT says.

Thunder glares at him. “Do not talk to my girlfriend about sex.”

Lightning steps up and catches the last part. “Looks like I left at a bad time. You’ll have to tell me later. We have something big to deal with.”

“What’s going on?” Thunder asks.

“Piper told Alicia that Durango is trying to transfer to the Seattle office.”

I must have misheard him because what he’s saying makes no sense.

“Why the hell would he want to do that?” Thunder asks.

Lightning turns to me. “To keep Ozzie and Piper apart.”

My heart sinks. Durango isn’t on board with us yet, but I can’t believe he wants to move Piper to the other side of the country to keep her away from me. Am I really that badof a choice for her? And he’d be willing to leave me? Like Coff left me. All I would have left is Axel, and he’s been keeping to himself a lot lately.
