She whimpered, the sound emanating from her chest at the deep invasion, her pussy clenching around him at the praise. When he felt her walls begin to relax, he ground his pelvis against her sensitive bud.The buildup from the last hour, along with the continually burning fire of their chemistry, must have had her primed because when he applied that bit of pressure and ground his hips in a circle, she came apart beneath him.

“Jax,” she screamed, head thrashing as her back arched again, her walls fluttering around him.

Christ, he loved the way she said his name. Her full lips forming each letter had his heart galloping erratically in his chest.Jax felt her flood around him, her walls undulating, fucking milking him, as she screamed his name.Stars exploded behind his eyes as he felt his balls tighten, threatening to set free what he was fighting against.

He wanted more.More of her—wanted to make her body move like this, her pussy slick with the evidence of her desire for him.Jax wanted her to scream until her voice was hoarse.

Grinding his teeth, he waited, keeping his control in check with an iron will as he felt her walls squeeze him in an biological rhythm designed to make a man explode.

“Fuck, Eavie,” he growled between his clamped teeth.

He leaned down, kissing and sucking her exposed neck. She felt so incredible around him, looked so good under him as she rode her waves of pleasure—the pleasurehegave her.Jax had to close his eyes and breathe deeply to stop himself from exploding as her orgasm gushed around him.

When she finally stilled and went limp beneath him, he opened his eyes.Eavie lay, beautiful and sated, on his bed, her hair fanned across his pillows. Her skin flushed a tantalizing shade of pink over her chest, expanding with each breath she took.

Mine, his mind growled.

Letting her leg go, he rested on his elbows and took her lips in a sweet, seductive kiss, pulling her from her drowsy, orgasm-induced state.Jax continued to kiss her in long, deep strokes until her heartbeat calmed and her hands tangled in his hair.

Reaching down, he wrapped her legs around his hips. When she had them secured, the muscles of her legs flexing against his sides, he lifted his head and looked down at her.

When Eavie opened her eyes and gazed up at him through hooded lids rimmed with thick, light lashes, he said, “Eyes on me,” before finally beginning to move inside her.

Jax slowly awoke after having fallen asleep a few hours ago.He lay on his back, but when he reached down to where Eavie had fallen asleep on him, she wasn’t there. He stretched his arm to the side, feeling for her warm body, but was only greeted by cool sheets.

Turning his head, he cracked his eyes open, scanning the bed in the light coming through the wall of windows, only to confirm that Eavie was not in it.Sitting up, he looked around the room.It was quiet, and no lights shone from the bathroom. His brows pulled into a frown as he threw the covers off and swung his legs out of bed.

Had she left?

Throwing on a pair of briefs, he checked the bathroom to make sure she wasn’t in there. When he found the room empty, he padded back out to his bedroom.Standing in the middle of the large room, an ache began to form in his chest at the idea she had snuck out.

Just then, he heard a faint sound outside the cracked bedroom door.Opening it fully, he stepped into the dimly lit hallway, following the noise and the light.Walking through his condo, Jax headed toward his kitchen, where the soft glow of his under-counter lights illuminated the living room.

Stepping around the corner, he halted at the sight of Eavie, barefoot and dressed in one of his blue button-down shirts, standing in his kitchen. Her hair hung loose around her shoulders, the thick strands now dry and curling almost wildly. Her face was clean of any makeup, and a small, soft smile graced her lips as she quietly hummed under her breath.

Jax felt like a bolt of lightning struck his chest as he watched her from the hallway’s shadows. The only thing he could think while he stood dumbstruck was that it was…perfect.

He’d thought about her being here before, but first seeing her laid out on his bed, her hair fanning the pillows, and now seeing her perfectly at home in his kitchen, he felt an odd squeezing in his chest.

She stood at the island, slices of bread, butter, cheese, honey, and an apple arranged on the counter.Behind her on the stove, a pan was poised over one burner. She was spreading butter onto the slices of bread when she turned to the stove and saw him in the doorway. She paused, flashing him a broad, tender smile that had his heart tripping.

He walked toward her, scanning her from head to toe. When he reached her, he placed a kiss on her cheek.“You look divine in nothing by my shirt,” he mumbled against her skin, his hands landing on her hips.Inhaling, he caught the scent of his shampoo on her and every primal cell inside him howled at the knowledge that this woman—this incredible, intelligent, sexy woman—smelled like him.

“Thank you,” she said almost shyly before she turned the knob of the gas burner on.She was completely at home in the space, as if she belonged in it.

Clearing his throat, he asked, “What are you doing?”

“I was starving when I woke up, but you were still sleeping, and I didn’t want to wake you.So I raided your fridge for a little midnight snack,” she said, returning to the ingredients on the island.

Jax chuckled as he watched her slice the cheese and apple.“I’m starting to realize you are always hungry.”

Her lips puckered in a self-satisfied smirk.Shrugging one shoulder, she said, “I’ve always loved my food.”

“Mmm,” he murmured, stepping up behind her.“You should have woken me.I would have ordered us something.”He wrapped his arm around her waist as he nuzzled his face in the crook of her shoulder.

She turned her head slightly to look at him.“It’s three in the morning,” she said with a laugh.“Besides, I like to cook.”

“And what are you making?”he asked curiously, considering his fridge and pantry weren’t the most well-stocked.
