“It’s not a big deal.” Finley leans forward between the seats and turns up the radio.

Morgan’s angry eyes meet mine in the mirror.

I shrug and mouth to her, “I didn’t ask you to come.”

She shakes her head and drives us back to my house.

Morgan

“So, how are things going with Keaton?” Tinsley sips her drink as if she hasn’t been dying to ask me this all night.

“Fine.” I stir my drink before turning back to the group. “I told you, we’re just friends.”

“And I told you I don’t believe it.” She sighs. “You know he watches you when you aren’t looking.”

I resist the urge to look in his direction. The guys have sequestered themselves by the dock overlooking the lake, leaving us girls by the fire.

“I think you’re seeing things you want to be there but aren’t.” I lead us back to the girls as she mumbles something under her breath. Reclaiming my seat, I jump into a conversation with Sage, Poppy, and some girl I don’t know.

Once there’s a lull in their conversation, Tinsley speaks up. “Why don’t we play a game?”

Sage groans loudly. I give her a questioning look as Tinsley innocently asks, “What?”

“What nothing. Last time I got wasted and ended up sleeping on the patio with your brother,” Sage grumbles.

“Look at how well that turned out. Come on, it will be fun.” Mischief flashes in Tinsley’s eyes.

“It sounds like fun.” Poppy smiles.

Tinsley gives me a challenging look.

I shrug. “I’m down.”

“Famous last words,” Sage mumbles before settling back in her chair.

“What should we play?” Poppy asks.

“Truth or Dare.” Tinsley’s eyes twinkle.

A chorus of “yeah” rings out. Before I know it, I find myself knee deep into a riveting game of Truth or Dare. After a round of dipping our feet in the water with tame dares, things start to heat up.

“Sage, truth or dare?” Poppy sips her drink as Sage thinks.

Shaking her head, Sage reluctantly says, “Dare.”

“I dare you to go over to the guys and promote me for at least one minute. Sell me to them. Maybe I’ll even get a date out of it.”

Sage gulps down her drink before walking right over to the guys. We can’t hear what she’s saying, but a few of the guys look our way as she speaks. She begins to get animated, gesturing with her arms.

I lose focus as I notice Keaton look our way. That cursed part of me that’s falling for him warms when his eyes meet mine briefly but turns to jealously as his eyes flick over to Poppy. I don’t realize that Sage has rejoined the group until she calls Tinsley out.

“Dare,” Tinsley doesn’t even hesitate.

“I dare you to trade bras with Poppy,” Sage says wickedly.

“Pfft. Easy.” Tinsley stands, but Sage holds out her hand for her to sit back down.
