December
Two months have gone by, and I have to admit, I’m loving the way Keaton has been treating me.
When we walk in the halls at school, he’s always touching me. If it’s not holding my hand, then it’s a hand on my back or an arm around my shoulders. I love every minute of it. He hasn’t kissed me in public though. It makes me wonder what this is to him.
Is he playing games to keep other guys from approaching me or does he actually feel something?
Tinsley and I still hang out all the time. She’s as confused by his actions as I am. She thinks I should just ask him what this is, but I can’t. Even if it turns out that I can only have him for a little while, I would rather that than nothing at all. I’m in too deep.
It’s Friday night, and Keaton, per usual, brought me as his date to yet another party. I once asked him why he attended so many of these. He said he has to keep his image up. His fans want to see him. This led to me smacking him and then him pulling me in for another make-out session.
My face heats at the memory.
Keaton grabs my hand, pulling me with him through the door of whoever’s house we are at. We only get four steps in before someone stops him to talk about this upcoming lacrosse season. Why they are worried about it in December is beyond me, considering it doesn’t start until February. This is how it always is, though.
Another four steps and ten minutes later, I pull myself away. I motion to Keaton that I’m getting a drink, and he nods.
“Morgan! Finally. I’ve been waiting for you.” Tinsley crashes into me.
“Whoa. How many drinks have you had?”
She shrugs. “You need to catch up.”
Agreeing completely, I let her lead me to the kitchen. Once we finally have our drinks, we make our way back to where I last saw Keaton.
“What took you so long to get here? Did you two stop for a quickie?” She thinks better of her question, and says, “Never mind. I don’t want to know.”
I laugh. “No, we stopped for food.” I look in the foyer, but he isn’t where I left him.
“Well, let’s go dance. Then you can run off with my brother and do whatever you guys do.”
As we make our way into the living room, I stop dead in my tracks.
Keaton’s there on the couch with a couple of other guys as they talk. That’s not what stops me, though. Rachel motherfucking Simmons is sitting on the arm of the couch next to Keaton with one hand on his shoulder as she laughs at whatever the guys are saying.
I see red.

Keaton
“I don’t need a ride home. Just thought I would let you know.” The fuming redhead in front of me causes all of us to stop talking.
She turns to leave, but I stand, making Rachel fall on her ass. Striding forward, I grab Morgan’s arm. “What’s up?”
“Nothing.” She shakes me off and makes her way to the bathroom down the hall. I don’t give her an inch, not even when she tries to slam the door in my face. Instead, I slip in behind her, locking the door. “What’s wrong?” I sigh.
“What’s wrong? What’s fucking wrong? You’ve got to be kidding me. Are you clueless as fuck?”
“Obviously, because I have no idea why you’re losing your shit right now.”
“Earlier you had your fucking tongue in my mouth. We get here and you disappear, only for me to find you with Rachel Simmons hanging off you. So, yeah. I’m losing my shit.”
“I didn’t even know she was sitting there, babe. Come on.” I take a step forward, but she steps back.
“What the fuck are we doing, Keaton? I’m not okay with being some rando you hook up with and forget.”
Rubbing my hands across the back of my neck, I answer honestly. “We’re seeing where this goes. I don’t know. I don’t know what this is or what we’re doing. I enjoy being with you. I love kissing you. You were jealous of her? Am I right?”
