“Please, for the love of all things holy, tell me you used a condom,” she demands while covering her eyes with her hand.
“Please, for the love of all things holy stop asking about my sex life,” I growl. “Now tell me why you’re here.”
“I’m sorry. My mind just went fucking blank when I saw your ass, which is noticeably whiter than the rest of you. You may want to tan,” she rambles.
“Sage,” I growl.
“Right, I have to go into the city to pick V up. She went to go talk to Sterling, and when she called she was crying so hard she was gasping. I need someone to go with me to drive her car back, and Reed isn’t home.”
“What about Tinsley?”
“She’s on her way home, and I don’t have time to wait for her. Plus, she has one more final tomorrow before we head out.”
Morgan peeks from under the covers, looking between us. “Hey, go with her. I’ll stay here and wait for Tinsley so the house isn’t empty when she gets home.”
“Yes, let’s do that.” Sage nods, relief filling her features.
I sigh and run my hand over the top of Morgan’s head. “Are you sure?”
“I’m sure. Victoria needs you. Now go,” she urges.
“Can you step out so I can put some pants on?”
“I’ll meet you in your Senna.” Sage runs out of the room.
I slide out of bed and start putting on my clothes. “Are you sure you're okay with this?” I ask her again.
“I’m sure.” Morgan sits up and brushes the hair out of her face.
“Wait for me?” I lean on the bed and kiss her.
“Okay.” She kisses me once more. “Drive safe.”
“I will. See you when I get home.” I hurry up and make my way out of the house and into the garage. My Senna is already running with the garage door open.
Impatient as always.
“This better be worth me getting out of bed for,” I tell Sage as I shut my door a little harder than necessary.
“It’s family. When they call, you go, no questions asked, no matter what predicament you're in.” She sighs. “But I’m sorry about your extremely white fucking ass. Not about pulling you out of bed.”

Chapter 12
Keaton
Sage rushes to the front desk and, moments later, returns to where I’m standing by the elevators with a room key. “Room 216.”
“How did you get the key?”
“Apparently she told them to give me one.” Sage chews on her lip.
“I’m sure everything is okay,” I tell her as we step into the elevator.
She reaches forward and hits the button for the second floor. “I hope you’re right.”
We walk to the room in silence. Sage slides the key into the door and tries to push it open, only to hit something. “What the fuck?” she mutters as she slides through the tight gap. “Oh fuck, Keaton, get in here.”
