The rest of his day was uneventful as more students filtered in and out of the library. The tasks he needed to complete were done. Since Destiny was no longer in the library he was able to focus on them and completed them in a timely manner.
Grabbing his keys and turning off the lights, Jackson made his way out the door with a pep in his step. It was time to go home and tell Eli all about his time watching their babygirl.
CHAPTER FIVE
JESSA
The first few days of classes were always stressful for Jessa, but even more so since she didn't have any classes with her twin. Ever since they were little, Jessa always made sure the transition back to school each year was as smooth as possible for Destiny.
She knew that her sister always had problems starting new things. Jessa worried about her every time she walked out of their dorm, but she was so proud of the steps that Destiny was taking. She loved hearing all about Destiny's day when she got home from the library every evening.
Jessa was slowly finding her place in her own classes and was enjoying it. While her twin loved all things English and had always excelled at those classes, Jessa preferred any class that involved numbers and she excelled in them.
That was the major difference between the two of them. Being able to fill her course load with several classes that involved numbers and math made her extremely happy. She had a feeling that her favorite class would be her Intro into economics class with Dr. West.
She might have done some online snooping on the school directory to find out who her teachers are. She wasn't prepared for how hot and attractive Dr. West was.
Jessa knew it was cliche to have a crush on her professor, but who wouldn't when he looked like that. Her only class day with him was Friday though, so she had yet to see him in person yet.
Shaking the thoughts of Dr. West from her mind, she tuned back into what her sister was saying. It was Thursday night and the twins had joined Raelyn and Emmett for dinner at their house.
They were getting ready to play some board games before calling it a night. Apparently it was a tradition for Rae and Olivia to get together every week to play and this week they wanted to include the girls.
Candyland was first on the list to play, which was Olivia's favorite game, if her reaction to it was anything to go by. It seemed she had a winning streak going for several weeks now, though Jessa was certain that the others were somehow letting her win.
That would end tonight though because Jessa didn't like to lose. Jessa cleared her voice quietly, gaining the attention of Destiny. She wanted to check in with her and make sure that she was still okay to hang out a little longer.
Raising her eyebrows in a question, Destiny smiled and nodded her head. This was a conversation they had perfected over the years and could have without once saying a word. Some would call it twin telepathy.
Jessa didn't know what it was, but she knew that they would have full conversations without ever actually saying a word. She nodded her head once more and turned back to the game in front of her. Destiny didn't show any signs of wanting to leave yet and Jessa was good at knowing when that was the case.
Clearing her mind, Jessa focused back on the game in front of her. It was time for her to lock in so that she could take Olivia's winning streak down.
A few hours and several board games later, it was finally time for the girls to call it a night. It was getting late and they still had class in the morning. Thinking about class made her heart race just a little bit.
Tomorrow was her economics class and this would be the first time that she was going to be inside the classroom. Jessa couldn't wait to finally see what Dr. West looked like in real life versus the picture the school had on the website.
Giving Rae and Emmett goodbyes, the twins headed out the door and made their way back to campus. Jessa was grateful that they only lived ten minutes from the college because she was exhausted after the long day she had of classes and then spending time this evening with their family.
Back in the room, Jessa was standing at their closet door trying to decide on an outfit for tomorrow while she waited on Destiny to finish up her routine in the bathroom. She knew better than to disrupt the carefully crafted bedtime routine of her twin, so she would allow her to do that and wait for her turn.
The one and only time Destiny's routine ever got disrupted, it had ended in a full spiral. So Jessa tried to keep her routines as normal as possible to help avoid that, keep her adjusted to her environment, and as close to her normal as possible. Flipping through dress after dress, she didn't see anything that was screaming at her to wear.
"Hey D. Do you know what you are wearing tomorrow? I don't want to pick out the dress you want by accident." Jessa hollered into the bathroom making sure to raise her voice for Destiny to hear her over the roaring of the shower.
"Yeah, can you grab out the pink lace sundress? The one that fades from light pink to dark pink and place it on my bed. I thinkmy white sandals are under the dresser if you can grab those as well. You know the ones I'm talking about. They have a white bow on the opposite side of the clasp."
Jessa quickly grabbed the items that her sister listed and neatly laid it all on the bed like requested, then headed back over to the closet. Looking back at her sister's outfit, she figured out what she wanted to wear.
It wasn't often they would match now that they were adults, but sometimes they would still wear the same outfit just in different colors. Flipping through the clothes till she found it, Jessa pulled out the same dress as Destiny but her dress faded from light purple to dark purple.
Laying that on the bed, she found the matching black sandals to Destiny's pair and put those with the dress. Knowing that the outfit wouldn't be complete without a bow for her hair, she dug through their bow collection pulling out a beautiful velvet bow that was dark purple and matched the outfit perfectly.
Knowing her sister well enough, she also grabbed the matching velvet bow in dark pink and laid it with Des' clothes. Hearing her sister turn off the shower, Jess quickly gathered up her nightgown and made her way towards the bathroom for her own shower.
Forty-five minutes later, the girls were curled up in Jessa's bed for their nightly cuddle time. She looked forward to the times that they did this because it reminded her of when they were younger and would always have to sleep touching each other.
Jess wasn't looking forward to the day that this would have to stop. She knew that as long as her sister was wrapped in her arms, she was safe and nothing could harm her. The world hasn't always been nice to Destiny and Jessa always did what it took to make sure her sister was protected.
