She took her job seriously and she knew that no matter where they ended up in life that wouldn't change. Being the older sister by three minutes meant that it was her job to always protect Destiny.
Knowing it was time for bed, she nudged her sister over to her side and curled up under the blankets. Jessa wanted to make sure she was well rested for her class with Dr. West tomorrow. The last thing she wanted was to look exhausted in front of the hottest man she had ever seen.
The following morning,Jessa woke up the first time her alarm went off. Destiny was already out the door for the day, so Jessa had the room and bathroom to herself.
She had braided her hair back into french braids last night while her hair was still slightly damp, so she knew she needed to run a hair dryer over them for a few minutes to make sure they were fully dry before pulling the braids out.
Her favorite way to curl her hair was with braids and with as much hair as she had it was the easiest way to do it as well. Jessa's hair went down past her bottom to about mid-thigh. She loved her long hair, but it was a lot of maintenance at times.
That was where the differences between the girls stopped. They were identical twins, but while Jessa had super long hair, Des kept hers cut to her shoulders. She once told Jess that it was much easier for her to manage when it was short.
Slipping into her dress and shoes, Jess made her way back into the bathroom to finish wrangling her hair together and putting her bow in. Pulling out some framing pieces around her face and she was good to go.
Grabbing a quick granola bar and a protein shake for breakfast, she headed out the door for her first intro into economics class of the semester. It was a quick walk across campus and as she got closer her nerves started to settle in.
Chalking it up to just first day jitters, Jess shook out her arms and focused on her breathing before heading into the classroom. Slipping into a seat on the third row, once again another thing she and her twin had in common, Jess pulled out her notebook and pens making sure everything was ready to go once class started.
Turning her head towards the clearing throat at the front of the room, she got her first glance at the man who would be teaching this class. Dr. West was even hotter than his picture online gave him credit for.
As he made eye contact with her during his scan over the class, a blush bloomed across her face when he lingered on her for a moment longer. Tucking her head down to hide her embarrassment, she didn't look up again until he started speaking.
"Good morning everyone. Welcome to Economics 101. This is an intro into Economics and I can assume that if you are here it's because you have some kind of interest in the economics world."
Many students nodded in agreement to his statement, including Jessa. She wasn't one hundred percent sure what she wanted to do in the future, but numbers were easy and so she knew it would be something related to that. Jess hoped that this class would help her decide on a path to take.
"This class will give you the basics of the economic world as well as open you up to future job opportunities. Even as a freshmen, you will begin to explore different avenues that you might want to work in one day. This semester you will pick a company to research and create a presentation about how their economic system works within their company."
Several groans went out over the class. Figuring most students were hoping for an easy A for their GPA, Jessa grinned. She didn't mind researching different companies and couldn't wait to get started.
"Cut the groaning. You will have all semester to work on it and, if you so choose, you can work in groups of three to divide up the work, but that isn't mandatory."
Letting out a sigh of relief, she settled back into her chair relaxing at the fact that she wouldn't have to work in a group if she didn't want to. She didn't hate group projects, but it was stressful trying to let people do their own parts without taking over and doing it for them.
Jessa was slightly a perfectionist about things and that is always a problem during group projects. It was hard for her to hand over control to different people and let them do their parts.
Not working with a group meant that she would have more to do on her own, but not that she minded. If it meant she had total control over the project, then she would have no problems at all.
"Now that all the housekeeping things are out of the way, open your textbooks to chapter 6 and let's begin."
Grabbing her book, Jess got things situated and picked up her favorite pen ready to start taking notes. She had ninety minutes in this class and she planned on using every second of it to absorb as much information as she could.
CHAPTER SIX
ELI
For once, Eli was ready for his intro class to end. He had to force himself to stop checking the clock every five minutes to see if they were any closer to being done.
Normally he loved his final class of the week because it meant that the weekend was here. He could relax and spend uninterrupted time with Jackson, but today he was impatient.
Eli had a no technology policy in his class and he would never have his students do something he wouldn't do himself. Which meant that he couldn't text Jackson about the certain brown haired girl that was currently occupying the third row in his classroom.
Glancing up at the clock again, he noted that it was finally time to start closing the class out.
"For next week, I want you to bring back the company that you are choosing to research as well as any group member names that you want to work with should you choose to. You also need to get a start on reading chapters nine through eleven in preparation for next week's class."
He continued to talk over the sound of zipping bags, "This class only meets in person once a week, so I expect you to do themajority of your class assignments during your own time. There will be very few opportunities for you to work on them during my lecture hour. Class is dismissed and I'll see everyone next week."
Eli turned back towards the papers on his desk, but kept an eye on the girl. Jackson was right, she was a very attractive young lady and he completely understands why his husband has become infatuated with her.
