“Actually, I have something I want to talk to you guys about.”
“Is everything okay, Little Wolf?” Pops asked, sending a concerned look in her direction.
“I hope it will be.” She admitted honestly. Destiny truly meant it too. For everyone’s sake, this all needed to work out.
“Okay, well when everyone is done eating we can go relax in the living room and talk.” Papa said, resting his hand on hers.
Destiny nodded her head, looking over at Jessa who graced her with a wide smile. She could do this, she was strong.
Knowing she wouldn’t be able to eat another bite, Destiny pushed the plate away from her. Picking up her water glass, she took a big sip hoping to ease the burn that crept up her chest.
“Are you done Jessa?” One of the guys asked. The pounding in her ears made it hard to figure out which one spoke.
“Yeah Papa, I’m done. I’ll take Destiny in the living room and we will wait for y’all.”
Destiny reached for the hand that her twin offered her and pushed away from the table. Once alone, Jessa pulled her into a hug whispering positive energy into her ear.
“No matter what happens, I’m in your corner and always will be. I am so incredibly proud of you. Don’t ever forget that.”
Destiny wiped a tear as it rolled down her cheek. She could do this. They love her, Papa and Pops might not have said it yet, but they do. Destiny had to believe that.
Settling down next to Jessa, she curled up into a ball pulling her knees to her chest. Destiny turned her head at the sound of their Daddies’ walking into the living room and settling on the couch.
“Okay, Little Wolf. What’s got you so worked up?” Papa asked, turning his attention to her.
“I don’t know where to start.” Destiny admitted, wringing her hands together.
“You can do this, Sissy. I’m proud of you.” Jessa whispered to her.
Taking a deep breath, Destiny gathered her thoughts once more. “Ever since I started getting to know you, both of you, I have been attracted to you.”
“We are attracted to you too, Little Wolf.” Pops said as Papa hummed his agreement.
“I’m not attracted to you in the same way that I think you are me.”
“What do you mean, Destiny?” Papa asked.
Gosh why was this so difficult. Why was it so hard for the words to come out of her mouth? This wasn’t something that she should be ashamed of, yet that’s all she felt in that moment.
“I’m asexual.” She finally blurted out not knowing any other way to say the words.
Silence fell in the room as her words sat heavy. Destiny wanted nothing more than to take those words back. She should have just kept this all to herself. Nothing could have prepared her for the words Pops muttered next.
“We know, Little Wolf.”
“Wait, what?” Jessa blurted out, smacking a hand across her mouth as she turned to Destiny.
“What do you mean you know?” she whispered.
“I mean just that, we know. Papa overheard a conversation that you had with Jessa that first weekend you stayed here. While he knows that it’s wrong to listen in on people's personal conversations, I’m glad that he did.”
“I’m sorry for listening to what should have been a conversation just between you and Jessa, but I don’t regret it. By hearing what you said, I was able to talk to Pops about it all.”
Destiny didn’t know what to think. Here she sat thinking that she was going to give them this life altering news. Something that could have ruined everything, yet they already knew. All the stress from the past few weeks melted away.
“We are proud of you for sharing this with us. We understand that it isn't easy to be vulnerable and open yourself up to hurt, but we don’t plan on hurting you, Destiny.” Pops said.
“When Papa came to me about hearing you call yourself broken, it broke my heart. When he proceeded to tell me why you felt that way, I knew that in that moment you weren’t broken, just a little lost.”
