“Dance?”

His bright grey eyes spark with mirth. “I believe I asked first, love.” He has the slightest accent, I just can’t place it.

“That’s not what I meant. I meant, why me? Pretty sure all the women here are staring at your face and swooning.” Probably his ass, too.

His hands pull our hips together. I can feel the spell flare out, but if I'm honest, I can’t form words for several seconds as my nerves short circuit and I don’t care.

“I don’t see anyone else here, do you?” He has slowly moved me onto the dance floor. “All I see is you.”

His hands run up my sides, just briefly touching my breasts before they wind around my back. I'm essentially trapped. Do I care? Nope. Should I? Probably.

“Does that line actually work for you?”

Our bodies sway together. My hands run over his chest before looping them behind his neck. The music is pumping around us but we are slow dancing. His thumbs are making slow circles on my lower back as he pulls me even closer.

“Obviously, since you’re still here.”

I groan. “Wow. These pickup lines are horrid.”

His hands squeeze my waist. “True enough. I’m Kieron. Do I get your name?”

“Mmm. Let me think about it.” I have to fight to keep from grinning. “Nah.”

He laughs, throwing his head back. “So, a one night fling?” His wink let’s me know he is joking.

Oh, delicious tendrils of pleasure have my butterflies going crazy at his laugh.

I have to focus. This guy could easily steal my heart. I can’t let that happen. I have Dorian and Noah I have to work out and this whole mate thing.

The music changes. That’s my queue to go back to the girls. Fighting myself to focus is getting harder as the seconds go by. Stepping away from him almost physically hurts. I know the spell has something to do with this, but it doesn’t stop it from happening.

Kieron lets me go. His eyes are darkened as he watches me.

“Thank you, Kieron, for the dance. Um, maybe I’ll see you around?” I scurry off the floor back to my friends who are still sitting at the booth. My feet seem to go faster at his reply that I hear even though the music is overpowering.

“You can count on it.”
