“Does that turn you on?” His hands moved to my backside, stroking my back.

“Surprisingly, yes.” I shuddered. “But, I own a store here and I can’t afford to get arrested.”

“Mmm. You have a point.” Titus gave a cocky tilt of his head. “I’ll talk to Jack tonight. Then we can all talk together. Does that sound good?”

“Actually, yeah. Um, Billy wants to meet you, too. Maybe we can all have dinner?” I was suddenly feeling shy. “I have tomorrow off. Would that work?”

His fingers went back up to cup my cheeks. “I will see you tomorrow evening with the jerkwad.” His amusement made my spine tingle. He gave me a lingering kiss before he walked off.

I ended up watching him until he was gone. I shook my head. Damn. I had something to do.

The parking lot was full, but as I moved around, sniffing the air for Samuel’s scent, I made sure there wasn’t anyone around when I finally found it.

His scent stunk. It permeated the air around the sleek luxury sedan. It was black. Which was perfect. I got to work.

No matter what someone thinks. It takes time to wrap a whole car with hundreds of feet of plastic film. I had to duck behind the car a few times when someone came into view. It took about thirty minutes to finish. I took a picture and scurried back to the store.

If the sun got too hot and melted the plastic to the paint? Well, that wasn’t my fault that he took so long to get to his car.

Chapter 9

“Wait, wait.” Igor held up her hands. “You suddenly just got three mates in two days?” She was laughing her ass off at me.

I rolled my eyes at my part time worker who helped out on the days I took off. She’d come in after closing to talk about next week’s hours.

“Yes, three. But let’s talk about you. How’s it going with Lawrence now that he’s able to shift into a human like you?”

She usually worked for FFS You Need Flowers!

She was hellbent on taking over the world and had decided she wanted experience with interacting with humans before making her plan.

She was a hard worker and hilarious.

“Lawrence is a prat. Like, he has a permanent stem up his ass. He hates that I’m not nice.” She flipped her very curly black hair over her shoulder. “Let’s not talk about that limp noodle.”

I finished filling up the flavor bottles. Man, I was running low on my secret ingredients to the original. I’d have to call to order some tomorrow after yoga.

“Alright, no limp noodle talk.” I put away the bottles. “How’s everyone else at home?”

“Oh dear Gods.” Ever the dramatic, Igor posed with her hand on her forehead. “Those three men of Iris’ are trying to see who can fuck the most. I can guarantee you that as soon as I left the shop, Iris and Dorian started to hump each other.”

Snorting, I leaned against the counter.

“So everyone is good.”

Igor shuddered visibly. “There’s going to be little Irises around soon. I just know it.”

“Well, if you ever want more hours to get away.” I raised an eyebrow at her. “Business is picking up, so I could probably afford to pay you three days a week.”

“I told you that you didn’t need to pay me.” Her scoff was loud and filled with annoyance. “Working here is good practice and gives me more data.”

“I still have to pay you, Igor.” That’s when a thought hit me. “What would you do against someone plotting against you?”

I swear her eyes gleamed. I could just see the wheels turning in her mind.

“I can only assume you’re talking about Darcorp? Gossip travels fast around here. I’m guessing you don’t want anyone eaten?” She pursed her lips as I shook my head no. “Okay, just basic. I can work with it. How about messing with the plumbing? I can have a few friends burst the pipes when he’s trying to get it installed.”

I blinked. “Like those movies where someone is in a porta potty and it explodes?” That actually sounded like a lot of fun, as long as no one got hurt. But it seemed a little excessive at this point. I’d wait until I’d gotten to speak with Eirlys tomorrow morning before making any decisions.
