If we got her back, I would never let her go.
No, I couldn't think like that. Not if. When.
Whenwe got her back.
Two hours later, we were in the air. Lucas was a nervous wreck, chewing on his fingernails until they bled before I took both of his hands into my own and kept him still.
"I hate flying. I hate flying. I hate flying," he repeated over and over again like a mantra.
"Hey." I let go of one of his hands to turn his face toward me. "Listen to me. We're doing this to save Bridget. You have nothing to fear. These private pilots are the best in the business ‘cause they make the most money."
"Matthias is one of the best there is. If he weren't so loyal to the pack he works for, I'd have him as my full-time pilot." Elias was relaxed against his plush seat with a laptop perched on the table before him.
"That makes me feel slightly better," Lucas replied, still looking ghostly pale as a fine sheen of sweat beaded along his brow. He swallowed deeply before sucking in a deep breath and seeking to center himself. He squeezed my hand and nodded.
"Xavier said they're waiting for word from Aldridge for a drop-off time and location." Simon typed away on his own laptop as he sat in the opposite corner as Elias in the row of two chairs facing each other.
"What do we know about the location where he is?" I asked, internally cursing my lack of knowledge in this realm so I could be of more help. Bridget was our mate. We should be the ones mounting the operation to rescue her.
But I had to concede this one to my family.
And pray that we'd make it in time.
"It's a newer warehouse built with a large underground area that wasn't on the original plans." Simon's tone was dark as he continued. "Looks like Aldridge Senior spent a pretty penny getting this up and running without anyone knowing about the basement. And the nefarious things that would take place there."
"If I were a betting man," Elias began. "I'd say this is their main point of operations."
“I’m sure Xavier already figured that out.” Simon took a sip from his whiskey before setting the glass back down. “And I’m positive he already let Jonathan know as well.”
I nodded, studying the information before me. How many omegas did Aldridge have hidden in those cells? How many had come and gone before them?
Fury exploded within me like a nuclear bomb. This would have been Bridget’s fate if Simon hadn’t gotten her out.
“He deserves to be tortured before he dies,” I growled, and the plane went silent except for the hum of the engines around us.
"Trust me, he will be." A wicked gleam twinkled in Simon's eyes as his statement hung heavy in the air around us.
CHAPTER54
Bridget
Ipaced along the length of the skeevy hotel room, avoiding sitting on any of the surfaces. Not that my nerves would even allow me to sit.
My phone was in my hand, and I illuminated the screen every few seconds as I waited for a text from Mike with the location of our drop.
Two hours after we landed, I checked into the No-Tell Motel under a fake name, paying cash and insisting that Xavier not follow me from the airport. I didn't want Mike to catch wind of his presence.
Part of me knew that Xavier was still watching me. I doubt he would have let me out of sight based on his promise to Alena.
But I wasn't going to think about that right now.
My phone vibrated, making me jump and gasp as my heart raced.
A random address was displayed on my screen with a note beneath it saying, "You have one hour."
Shit, shit, shit.
I opened the ride-share app and immediately ordered a car. Luckily, there was one in the area, and it would take just shy of forty-five minutes to get there.
