Not going to touch that one with a ten-foot pole, because that was exactly what they were doing in my dream last night.

Which I would not think about. Nor would Ithink about what Lucas said.

“Do you need a few minutes?” Noah asked. “You can take your coffee with you. I won’t be showing you too much. Just the cabins and where all the supplies are. There won’t be a whole lot to do when the cabins aren’t rented out.”

“How often are they all filled?”

Noah scoffed. “We haven’t had all of them filled in a long time. Usually, only one or two are rented at a time. And only during the busier times.”

That got the wheels turning in my head.

This place was stunning. They should be able to rent these without problems. Judging by the clipped tone and set of his jaw, Noah wasn’t too happy about the situation, either.

“Let’s go.” I hopped off my stool and grabbed my coffee.

“Wait.” Lucas dusted his hands off, grabbed a travel mug from the cabinet, and filled it with coffee and creamer. “So it stays warm.”

“Thank you.” I beamed at him, surprised by his thoughtfulness. That thoughtfulness would continue to surprise me until I got used to being around such a caring individual. He really was the best.

I drained the rest of the mug and walked it over to the sink, where I rinsed it off. “These dirty? Should I just put it in the dishwasher?” I pointed to the appliance, and before I could move, Lucas grabbed it from me and added it to the top rack himself.

“I got it.” He grinned warmly. Damn, that was such an infectious smile. “You can always just put things in the sink. I don’t mind doing the dishes.” He tapped at his lips with a finger as he reconsidered his words. “Well, unless I’m mad at Noah or James, then I mind, and I make them do ‘em.”

“You’re positively wicked.”

Lucas framed his face with his hands and kicked his leg out in a dramatic pose. “I know.”

“Of course you do,” Noah rumbled as he grabbed his hat and keys. Almost the same move as James. Whoever thought a man putting a hat on would be sexy, but it sure as hell was doing something for me.

“And thanks for getting my coffee to go,” he retorted as he held up a container similar to the one Lucas gave me.

“You’re still on my shit list.” Lucas narrowed his eyes and pointed a finger at the alpha, not in the least intimidated by his size and stature.

“So, are we just going to walk the grounds?” I said quickly, trying to defuse the situation. I didn’t think Lucas and Noah would ever fight, but just the thought of them arguing and it getting heated made sweat break out on my forehead.

I’d witnessed too many fights between my family that, to this day, I hated to see anyone fight.

Noah and Lucas looked at me, almost as if they could sense my discomfort. Immediately the tension in the room dissipated and I was able to take a full breath.

“Actually, we have a golf cart.” Noah cleared his throat and rubbed a hand over the back of his neck. “Makes it easier when Lucas has to deliver meals or we need to get supplies out there. Some of the cabins are further out and more private. You ready to go?”

I nodded, taking a drink of my coffee instead of fiddling with the lid. I squared my shoulders back. I could do this. “I’m ready, Sir!” I gave a mock salute.

It didn’t go over as well as I thought it would. I took a step forward in concern when Lucas and Noah both groaned aloud. Noah tried to disguise it with a cough but failed, and Lucas burst into laughter.

“Uh.” My eyes ping-ponged between the two of them, completely confused. “What’s so funny?”

Noah cleared his throat, pushing Lucas’s shoulder gently. “Nothing, baby girl. Come on. We’ll see you in a bit, Lucas. Wait.”

He grabbed another coat from the rack behind the door and helped me put it on. “It’s chilly today, and even a few snow flurries are kicking up. You don’t want to catch a cold.”

“Thanks.” I gave him a small smile and tugged the edges closer together. The scent of cherry blossoms drifted through my nostrils.

James.

How would he feel about me wearing his coat and infusing it with my scent?

Hopefully, he’d like it just as much as I liked having his scent surrounding me.
