After I was safely encased in the warmth of the coat, Noah offered his arm up to me. Sliding my hand into the crook of his elbow felt natural, and I rather enjoyed the hard muscle. My fingers might have tightened a few times, trying to judge just how strong he was.

“Have fun!” Lucas clapped. “Don’t get in too much trouble.”

“It would only be trouble if you joined us.” Noah shook his head and led me to the small shed on the other side of the driveway.

Lucas chuckled and shut the door behind us after giving me a wink.

I barely felt the chill in the air despite being able to see my breath as I exhaled. There was a significant temperature difference from when we went riding the other day.

Noah opened the doors to the shed and slid into the driver's seat of the golf cart. He pulled it out, lining the passenger side right up with me.

He got out, but before he could come around to the passenger side, I sat down, much to his chagrin. With a sigh, he spun on his heel and placed himself back into the driver's side of the bench seat.

“We like making sure doors of all kinds are open for a lady,” Noah began. “Please indulge us. We’re but simple men and take joy in it.”

I snorted before I burst into laughter. “That’s just too much,” I managed to get out through my humor. “Fine, fine. I’ll let you get the door for me.”

“Thank you, Milady.” Noah shot me a wink and began to drive along the path to the first bank of cabins. “So, these are the closer cabins. You stayed in one the first night you were here before we had your room ready. They probably rent out the most. I’ll get you the schedule. You won’t need to clean them unless someone stays. Which these days, is rare.”

I detected the bitterness in his tone at the statement, and I became more determined than ever to help them with more than just cleaning.

My mind began whirling with even more ideas to revamp their website and allow for online bookings. Maybe even get onto some specialty sites.

As I schemed, I decided I’d take some pictures while I was cleaning. That would add that extra look to the website. Especially if I did some of the views outside of the cabins. With the light snow dusting the ground and the clear blue sky.

It had snowed a few inches overnight, but the bright sun was already melting the icy crystals.

“How much does it snow here in the winter?” I asked curiously, pulling the edges of my borrowed coat further together to fight off the chill.

“We can get upwards of a foot, but it freezes more than it actually snows.” Noah gave me a small smirk as he turned briefly toward me. “Are you ready for that?”

I shrugged. “I’m going to have to be. Not really any other options for me.”

His eyes turned back to the gravel road before us as a frown wrinkled his brow. “There are always options, Bridget. If you don’t want to be here, we can find another way.”

Reaching out, I placed my hand on his bicep. “I’ll be fine, Noah. I lived in Illinois for the past few years. I do have some experience with cold weather and snow. I won’t shrivel up.”

“Good.” His voice was gruff as he barked out the one word.

He didn’t like the thought of me leaving. Warmth pooled in my lower belly at the thought.

Noah pulled the golf cart in between two cabins and turned it off. “This row of cabins are all the same, so I’ll just show you one. Figured since that first night was a whirlwind, you’d need another look in the daylight to get the layout down.”

I stayed in my seat and waited for Noah to round the cart to assist me. I wanted to snort. The little cart didn’t even have a door, but he had to help me all the same.

The part of me who had never been treated like a properly cherished omega warmed at Noah’s insistence when we got into the golf cart.

“After we look at this one, I’ll show you the area with all the supplies. Sheets, pillows, blankets, cleaning stuff.”

I nodded and followed him through the cabin. It was like looking at it in a new light. That first night, I’d been surprised, scared, and overstimulated. I had been focusing on keeping myself calm and collected rather than looking at the details of the walls and amenities.

It was a simplistic beauty. Cozy, warm, and inviting. Simple black and white pictures on the walls. A kitchenette in one corner of the room with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and sink.

The other side of the room was a large king-sized bed, with a white duvet. There were some taupe and teal accent pillows on top which didn’t fit the room at all.

There was a set of French doors that led out to the deck that overlooked the large pasture and trees.

It was breathtaking.
