“No, sweet girl.” His arm snaked around my waist and drew me close. “Don’t pull away. Don’t be embarrassed. We desire every part of you and love anything you do.”
I shook my head, feeling like little more than a child. “I feel like you guys are so much more experienced than me. It’s like I can’t compare to everything you’ve done.”
Who was I kidding? I had no experience. A fact that I’m sure they probably knew if they were smart. I mean, they’d given me my first kisses.
James’ brow furrowed as he cocked his head to the side. Lucas came to stand beside him and pulled me close to him. “Darlin’.”
Lucas pressed his forehead against mine. “Experience doesn’t count for shit when it comes to pack and finding your omega. We are all brand new to this. The feelings we’re experiencing and the emotions are all new. Together, we’ll find our way.”
Tears flooded my eyes and threatened to spill down my cheeks. “Lucas.” I tangled my fingers in his blonde hair and held him close.
“Besides, I’ve never been with a woman before, so I’m just as inexperienced as you.” He kissed the tip of my nose.
With his little bombshell, he flittered back to the kitchen and left me with James.
I stared at his back, shaking my head. At least Lucas could always make me laugh, even when I’m about to cry.
“Now that we have that out of the way.” Lucas turned around, gesturing to the picnic basket. “I’m going to finish getting this ready. You two go do your chores quickly.”
“Are we all going on a picnic?” A smile formed as the thought excited me.
“You’ll just have to be a good girl and go do your chores to find out!” Lucas twisted a towel and snapped it at James as he walked next to him to grab his coffee.
James jumped, turned to Lucas, put his coffee down, and faced him. His eyes gleamed; even I could see it from where I stood across the room. James trapped Lucas between his arms with his hands resting on the counter behind Lucas. A low growl reverberated around the kitchen. I got goosebumps along the back of my neck.
“Lucas, might I remind you that you’re the beta?” The deep timbre of his voice sent another spark of arousal straight to my pussy.
“Oh yeah?” Lucas sassed, and I winced, knowing what happened when Lucas got sassy. “I seem to recall you being a beta as well.”
Oh, good lord, Lucas. Do you ever know when to shut your mouth?
James stilled, and then his body started to shake. But it wasn’t in rage. It was with laughter.
Soon, we were all cackling like loons.
“Go on, shoo. Back to your chores.” Lucas waved his towel again and chased us from the kitchen.
I was barely able to move, my sides were hurting from laughing so hard. James slapped Lucas’s ass as he left out the door with his hat. Lucas rubbed his injured cheek as he looked over at me.
“Just you wait, Darlin’.” He held open the door and grabbed the keys to the golf cart. “Go do your run-through.”
I patted my pants to make sure I had my phone before leaving. The air held a chill as I started the cart, but soon, I was distracted by work, and I didn’t notice the cold.
There was some litter around one of the cabins I picked up from the last customers. I noted it on the clipboard that Noah had given to me to write anything that I found during the day. Inside the cabins only took about an hour since we’d only had one cabin rented out the past few nights.
As I started back to the house, a bird flew over the cart to land on the top of the roof of a cabin. The light hit just right, so I had to stop to take a picture that would be great for the website remodel.
Which I still needed to talk to the guys about.
James was in the kitchen already by the time I got back. He looked at me with eyes that caused a shiver to run down my spine. I felt excited, thinking that I might get to kiss him more. Honestly, I really wanted to kiss all of them again.
“You’re back!” Lucas waved me close to where he was rinsing dishes. “Perfect! Do me a favor and go change into one of the dresses you bought.” Lucas leaned over as I came up next to him and kissed me gently before pulling back. “Off with you. Go get ready for your surprise.”
“Where’s Noah?” I rubbed my arm nervously as I glanced at James.
“He’s in the office. He’s in a mood again and won’t talk to us. As usual.” Lucas answered as he huffed out in annoyance. “Now, stop dilly-dallying.” He hip-bumped me, making me stumble, and James caught me.
“You okay?” James squeezed my arms before stepping back.
