“Damn straight I would. I haven’t made it to Canada yet. Washington has been the furthest I’ve been. I grew upinLA until I went into the military.” Ghost and the rest of us turned when we heard pipes of a couple motorcycles in the distance.

Two came into view with an SUV behind it. When Jas started jumping up anddown,we knew it had to be the Ops. The bikes pulledin,and the SUV followed. The two men on the bikes dismounted and when the one got both his feet on the ground, he had just enough time to catch Jas as she jumped into his arms. Jas finished with one and moved to the next man and did the same as two women stepped out of the SUV.

“What the fuck, Jas? We should get the firsthugs,not those two assholes,” the one woman yelled.

“Umm...yeah, I think it’s a good idea to keep their women away from ours,” Jag whispered, andGhostand I laughed.

Jas screeched, “Harmony! Moon!” And the two Ops men laughed and made their way to us.

“I’m Cajun, one of Jas’s stepdads. This is Fork, our VP, and his ol’ lady, Harmony,” Cajun pointed to one of the women walking toward us, then pointed to the other woman as they got closer, but he didn’t get a chance to say her name.

“Luna?” Ghostasked,and the woman turned her head away from Jas and looked at him.

“Oh. My. God. Braxton Samuel Carver!” The woman yelled. Jag, the Ops men, andIwatched the two and wore the same expression of what the hell? Fork’s ol’ lady didn’t seem to have a problem.

“You know this guy, Moon?” she asked and looked Ghost up and down. “Damn, girl, you’d have to climb him like a tree, but then again, if all his parts are portioned, it would be worth it.”

“Harmony, I’m standing right here,” Fork saidwitha sigh.

“Pleassseee, I’m carrying your and Creed’s devil spawn. What more do you want?”

Ghost watched the woman he called Luna, andJagand I watched the Ops VP and his ol’ lady.

“So, who is the man, Moon?” Harmony asked again.

“I’m Ghost, Luna and I grew up together.” As soon as Ghost spoke Harmony moved in front of the woman she called Moon and Ghost had referred to as Luna.

“Girl, is this the motherfucker who slept with you, girl, and broke your heart?” Harmony asked and didn’t wait for Luna/Moon to answer. “I should get my knives out of the truck a cut your ass.” Then Fork caught Harmony’s arm before she could turn around and head back to the truck and he bent and whispered in her ear. Harmony said loud enough for us to hear, “Fine. But if my homegirl needs me. I am there! Now get us some rooms, I’m tired. Us girls will share aroom,and you and Cajun can share a room.”Forkwas ready to reply to her but then stopped beside Jag and me before he went into the office to get the rooms.

“You got ol’ ladies?” he asked.

“No,” Jaganswered,and Fork patted his back.

“Don’t. Life is easier.”

“I heard that!”

“Of course you did, I’ll take the couch when I get home.”

“Damn straight you will.”

Fork looked at me. “She really is nice. The pregnancy is making her crazier than normal.” He headed into the office.

Cajun and Jaslaughed,and I had a feeling the VP had told a big tale on his ol’ lady. While we had beenlisteningto them banter, no one noticed that Ghost and Luna/Moon had walked off.

Forkcame out with the room keys andJagand I helped transfer Jas’s things over in their truck. The Ops were heading home in the morning and so were we after one more stop.

Chapter Fourteen

Devil

“Did you check on Ghost? Is he ready to roll?” Jag asked while we put our things in the saddlebags.

“Yeah, I knocked.Hesaidhe’d be out in a couple minutes.”

The Ops walked out of their rooms with stuff in hand and went to their truck and threw the bags in the back. As they were making their way over to us, Ghost’s door opened and he and Moon walked out. I noticed the difference in the big man immediately. He looked more relaxed than he had been since we met him. I could understand that feeling. And I wanted to get back to it.

“Ride safe. Jas, we’re going to miss you around the club. Especially Shakes and Dare. Take care, okay?” Jag said, and Jas walked over and hugged him, then she turned to me and did the same thing.
