I notice Kara smiling as she looks between us. “I’ll let you two browse. The dressing room is behind that curtain in the back. Try on as many things as you’d like. I’m going to grab a few new designs from the back room so you can take a look at them too.”
I bet I’m sporting the cheesiest grin ever as I tell her thank you again. Kara disappears into the back, and I turn to Sam. “I can’t believe you got me the boots I wanted for my birthday.”
He swipes a chunk of hair out of my face and flashes a warm smile. “And now I’m going to get you everything you want from this boutique.”
He presses a soft kiss to my lips. I’m smiling so hard, my face hurts as I peruse the racks. I grab a half-dozen dresses and try them on in the fitting room. When I come out in a flowy, strapless, mint-hued maxi dress, Sam’s eyes go wide.
“You look hot,” he murmurs from the plush armchair he’s sitting in.
“Yeah?” I do a spin in front of where he’s sitting on a plush upholstered bench.
“Oh yeah. You’re definitely getting that.”
I giggle and head back into the dressing room to try on more. Each time I step out to show Sam, he looks at me like I’m the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.
“Yup. Love that one too,” he says about the cobalt blue sundress I’m wearing.
“You look so lovely in that,” Kara says as she walks over to us.
“Oh gosh, thank you,” I say.
“This one is a bit more on the formal side. But I think it would look amazing on you. Especially with your dark hair and tan skin.” She holds up a gorgeous, emerald-green, one-shoulder satin dress with cinching at the waist and delicate rouching detail. “It hasn’t gone on sale anywhere yet, so you’re getting a first look.”
“Oh wow,” I say, in awe of how pretty it is.
I take it into the dressing room and look at myself in the mirror. I can’t help the massive grin that splits my face. Kara’s right. This shade of green looks so good on me.
When I step out of the dressing room, Sam’s eyes bulge out of his head. Kara chuckles at his reaction.
“I think he likes it,” she teases.
“I feel so pretty in this dress.” I look at Sam. “I wish I had a more formal job so I could wear it every day.”
“We’ve got a bunch of weddings coming up,” Sam says. “Your brother and Ingrid are getting married. So are Blomdahl and Bella. And Xander and Sophie. This dress would be perfect for that.”
His eyes are glittery as he looks me up and down.
“Good point,” I say.
“Would you like me to grab some shoes and jewelry to try on with this dress?” Kara asks.
“She’d love that,” Sam says before I can say anything.
Kara walks off, and I step over to Sam. He rests his hands on my waist, pulling me to stand between his legs.
“You don’t need to buy my shoes and jewelry too,” I say, running my fingers through his hair.
The corner of his mouth hooks up in a sexy half-smile. “I know I don’t. I want to. Let me spoil you, beautiful. It turns me on.”
My pussy aches hearing him say that. I’ve never beentreated like this before. Doted on with a designer shopping spree. It’s honestly really hot that he genuinely enjoys taking me out and spending money on me.
Kara comes back with a bunch of accessories. By the time we’re done, I end up with five new dresses, two pairs of shorts, a half-dozen tops, three pairs of shoes, a new pair of earrings, and two bracelets.
When Kara tells him the total, I have to bite down to keep my jaw from unhinging. That’s more than three months’ worth of paychecks for me. But Sam doesn’t even flinch. He hands over his credit card with an easy smile on his face, as unbothered as if he’s paying for some snacks at a gas station.
I shouldn’t be all that surprised. Sam is a professional athlete who makes millions of dollars every year. This amount of money is a drop in the bucket for him.
But it’s not just about the money. It’s the fact that he went out of his way to plan something for me. Something that he knew I would like and that would mean a lot to me.
