I’m not at all pressed about it. I don’t want to be anywhere other than where I am now. There are a few other people loitering around, playing pool, or chatting in general.

My sister is hanging out with us at the couches, and Cam puts his book down to listen to her talk about a night out she had. It’s easy to be drawn to her, even though she’s even more dangerous than I am. In small doses, it’s easy to forget that.

“Luna, I’m all for fun, but do you have a pack in mind?” I ask her.

Unlike me, she doesn’t have people that she practically grew up with and then fell in love with. At least, not people she can actually have. My dad is a little more lax about who I spend my time with because he knows I can take care of myself. Plus, I’m not an omega nor his only daughter.

My sister raises her brow in the haughtiest expression ever. God, that’s what I look like when I’m annoyed, isn’t it?

“Lee,” she sighs, “you know me just as well as I know you, but I’ll play your game. There are a few guys on the crew that I like, but Dad will never go for it. If I go by what he wants, I’ll end up a single omega for my entire life. I don’t want that for me. I have needs, you know?”

Pretending not to think about what those “needs” entail, I clear my throat.

“You’re playing with fire,” I reprimand her. I’ve seen the guys who watch her covertly as if Luna hung the moon, but Dad would cut their dicks off if he knew. “Besides, I don’t think they can handle your brand of crazy, girl.”

“Oh, I think they can,” she says, smiling secretly.

My sister is smart, and she knows how to play the long game. She has no issues plotting and making moves to get what she wants. If I were to look around the room at all of the dangerous people in this room, I would still choose my sister as the one I wouldn’t dare turn my back on.

I adore her, but even I know better than to get between her and what she wants.

“Besides,” she continues, “Big Brother, since you know who I want, I’m sure you also know that I don’t give a fuck what anyone else has to say about it. You and Dad can try to push me toward other alphas and packs, and it’ll still end with their tears, not mine. I don’t want to spend my life settling for something I don’t really want. My mind has been made up.”

Sighing, I shake my head. “Luna, you say that but it’s never going to happen. If they know what's good for them, they would choose another omega. I love you, but you’ll tear those guys through a meat grinder if you ended up with them.”

“That’s whatyouthink,” she says, sitting up. “There will be no other omega if I kill her first. Ever thought of that? I’m sure Dad’s pigs would enjoy the meal. I bet anyone they thought they’d want would be fucking scrawny too!”

Fuck me. Luna is working herself up over an imaginary omega, and I bet she’s going to begin stalking those guys to see if there’s anyone else. Oops.

“Luna—”

“Fuck you,” she bites out, standing up. Wincing, I watch as she stomps off, but I really need her to rethink these guys.

They can’t handle her. No one who’s normal can.

“Is she okay?” Cam asks, wide eyed as if he wants to go after her.

He’s such a sweet guy.

“Yeah, not even a little bit,” I smirk. “She’s going to print off a photo of me and throw darts at it until she feels better. I suppose it’s better than a doll with a piece of my hair tied around it so she can stab it.”

Camden looks confused, and I settle back as I pull him against me.

“My sister is unhinged,” I say. “She’s as obsessive as I am, maybe even more so. I feel sorry for the poor bastards who end up with my sister because they’re not going to make it out alive.”

I suppose that’s the point of falling in love. You’re not supposed to.

CAMDEN

“Hey, Camden.”

“What's up?” I ask Jason, my manager, as I wipe down the bar top.

“It’s pretty dead tonight, why don’t you take off early?” he suggests, leaning against the counter.

My brows furrow, looking around. “You’re kidding right? We’re not slammed, but I wouldn’t call it dead.”

He lets out a small chuckle. “Okay, fine, you're right. But you’re still free to head home if you want. We got everything covered.”
