She put her hand on his shoulder.

“Yes?” He lifted his head and looked for her eyes. “What is it?”

You take my breath away.

She said, “It’s been kind of a long time for me.”

He smiled. “It’s been a while for me too.”

“Okay.”

“Sunny, Sunny.” He whispered her name over and over again. “Sweet Sunny.”

She closed her eyes and made her brain stop whirling.Live in the now, Sunny. Her skin was on fire, every inch of it sensitized to Martin’s touch. She shivered under him as he unbuttoned her pants and his, then they were laying in bed together, nothing between them and his hands exploring every inch of her.

Every. Inch.

“I didn’t bring anything with me,” he whispered. “So we can’t—”

“We can do other things.” She lifted her head. “I can… You can—there are other things we can do.”

He lifted his head and smiled. “I was planning on it.”

Sunny laid back and watched his head move farther down her body as his mouth explored her soft skin and his fingers explored between her thighs.

After a few minutes, she couldn’t think of anything at all.

Martin wokeup with Sunny in his arms and dread in his heart.

She was leaving.

It had only been a week of knowing her, three days of being her lover, but he was already dreading waking up tomorrow without his Sunny.

Making love to her the night before had been a revelation, and he was kicking himself that he’d waited so long to ask her to spend the night.

But no. This was Sunny. And this was him. They weren’t the quick explosion types. She was a woman who needed time.

And time was now his enemy.

She was sleeping against his shoulder, her arm draped across his chest and her dark brown hair splayed like silk on his pillow. In sleep, her lower lip stuck out in a slight pout, making her look petulant and grouchy. He smiled and moved a strand of hair from beside her nose.

She blinked her eyes open and froze. Martin waited for her to realize where she was and knew it only took a second because her body relaxed against his and she nuzzled her face into his chest.

“Last night was beautiful,” she whispered. “Maybe I should stay a few more days.”

Yes. Stay forever.

“I would love that, but I know you and Alice have plans to visit the beach. She might murder me in my sleep if I interrupt her holiday.”

Sunny looked up and bit her lower lip, resting her chin on his chest. “You could come with us.”

He smiled. “My Sunny, I cannot. I have more guests coming tomorrow and with Alice leaving today with you, I can’t be gone.”

“I can come back.”

His heart thumped. “You can always come back.”
