Her eyes find mine. ‘What do you mean?’
‘You have five days to decide which one of us you want to be the first.’
I smirk at her gob-smacked expression. She wasn't expecting that.
‘F-five days?’ she asks. ‘But—’
‘You have five,’ I repeat, ‘Five to choose which one of us you want to pop your incubus cherry. Do you want Paris’ gentle touch? My rough one? Theo’s games? Kor’s fury? Sie’s madness? You pick. But once it's done,’ I step closer and whisper in her ear, ‘you come whenever any of us call for you, and you do everything you’re told just like the other girls. Now, leave us.’
She turns and scurries away like a little mouse and I grin at her retreating form. The guys are silent, but Paris and Theo both have competitive gleams in their eyes.
‘Which one of us will it be?’ I ask.
‘She’ll choose me,’ Paris says, folding his arms and leaning back.
‘You sound real fucking sure for a guy who’s never had a human without lulling her first,’ Theo laughs.
Paris starts to get defensive. ‘That’s only because I’ve never bothered trying! She wants what every human girl wants. Clothes and shoes. Pretty little trinkets. She’ll choose me well before the five days are up.’
‘You think so?’
‘Think she’ll choose you? The guy who watches her from his cameras and jerks off to the monitors?’
Theo snorts and gets up. ‘Never know. She was very aroused by Vic’s spanking threat. Maybe she’s a little freak in the sheets. Speaking of the cameras, I’m gonna go see what she’s up to.’
He gives me a wink and I frown at him, deciding to check my room for recording devices before I next have her sleeping in my bed.
I head to the study to get some work done before I start getting calls from the other supes about the bombings, but before I can do anything, Sie comes in and sits down.
‘You can last five days, right?’
‘I don’t need to.’
I look up sharply, wondering if Sie’s going to play the game with Paris and Theo, but he just gives me a look. ‘I told you, I don’t want her. Anyway, I spoke to some of Maddox’s clan in the club last night, but they didn’t give me anything.’
‘Did you expect them to?’ I ask.
He shrugs. ‘If they drink enough, sometimes things slip out.’
‘Meanwhile, another of our shipments has disappeared. I’ve got the fae on my back because their shit is disappearing on our watch. Twelve coordinated attacks by the Order this year alone … They’re getting bolder and there are a lot more humans on their side than there were before.’
‘They’ve got a pretty good propaganda campaign going on,’ Sie says, stretching his neck, ‘especially after what happened in that club last year.’
‘Fuck,’ I mutter. ‘The turning of the tide. What a shit show that was.’
‘Have you considered that it's the Order that's fucking with our operation?’
‘Yeah,’ I say, not telling him that I suspect Jane to be one of them, ‘but to be sure we’re going to have to go find out for ourselves.’
Sie nods. ‘When do you want to go?’
‘Next few days. Will you be well enough?’
‘If I'm not you can put a bullet in my head.’
I make a show of chuckling but, when he leaves the room, I sober pretty fast. The last thing I want to do is put a bullet in my best friend's head. I thought he was feeling better, but he looks like shit again today.
I pour myself a whiskey and down it in one. We’ll have to take the new girl with us. Not only to continue our little game, but because I’m sure as shit not leaving the little Trojan Horse here alone to snoop around or let our enemies in when they storm the gates. Plus, despite what Sie says, I know he’s interested in her. It would be a good idea to have her on hand in case he loses it. She can be useful in more ways than one and I still think she might be the one to give him what he needs even if he is fighting it.
