“I wish we never went on this date.”

“The water park might change your mind.”

Bailey groaned. He gave up, waving Zane off, although he let Zane choose the next ride.He said nothing about Zane cuddling with him either, which had him snickering.

So what if Bailey assumed they were going to have sex?!Of course he thought about it!They were going to stay at a hotel.Alone.With no interruptions.Wasn’t that kind of the perfect set up?

Well, Zane clearly thought the same way or, at least, used jokes as a way to gauge whether Bailey wanted the same.Either way, he had grown flustered, while Zane seemed perfectly fine.Of course, that was how it always was.Unfair.

Their day of walking around, playing games and riding roller coasters continued.Zane was exceptionally fond of any ride that dropped them like deadweight. He always laughed afterwards, like a kid that opened their favorite Christmas present.Bailey loved it.Although he preferred less, uh, drastic rides. He still said how much he loved it, hoping to go again so he could hear Zane’s laugh.

When the day got late, they returned to their hotel to change to their swim trunks and head to the water park.Bailey was dunked one too many times in the pool.He desperately tried to do the same to Zane.It never worked. He should have known better, but he was a sucker for punishment, it seemed. He shouted when Zane lifted him up and tossed him into the deep end of the pool.Bailey’s nostrils tickled from the water infiltrating them.He burst out of the surface, almost hacking up a lung.

“Damn it, Zane!”He called, only to see Zane shrugging like he had no idea why he was getting yelled at.“Dunk me again and–”

“What?”Zane interrupted, moving over to Bailey and, damn it, in six-foot water he still had four inches. Why was he so freaking tall?

“I’ll dunk you back.”

“You’ve been failing for over an hour.”

“Give me another hour and I’ll succeed.”

“It closes in, like, thirty minutes.”

Bailey pursed his lips.Zane leaned in to press a kiss to those lips.Damn it, Bailey wasn’t falling for that again. He would not let up just because Zane had been cute all day!He was mad, and he was going to stay mad.

“When you try to act mad, you just look constipated,” Zane said.

Bailey put his hands on Zane’s head to push him under water. All he got was Zane wrapping his arms around Bailey’s waist and shoving him under the water instead.Bailey resurfaced about a foot away, managing to get back in the five-foot water, so he was at less of a disadvantage.Zane joined him, snickering and brushing back the long hair from his face.

“I’m not trying to look mad.I am mad. You’re super annoying today.”Bailey jabbed his finger into Zane’s chest.

“My bad.I’ll try my best to always be this annoying,” Zane countered.

“You know that’s not what I meant.”

“I’m taking it as a challenge.”

“Please don’t.”

“Come on,” Zane snickered, grabbing Bailey’s hand again. He claimed to be hungry. The park closed soon anyway.Bailey agreed. His stomach rumbled as soon as the two got on the elevator to head upstairs.

When the two returned to their room, Zane walked towards their small table and said, “You can have the first shower.”

“You sure?”Bailey asked. His throat had gone suddenly dry.It could have to do with the fact that they were alone in a hotel room, soaking wet after the best date he ever had.Maybe it had to do with the fact that Bailey expected something to happen. And would be pretty disappointed if it didn’t, honestly.

Zane nodded until he noted Bailey’s odd behavior. He stood at the bathroom entryway, hands at his side. His cheeks had been stained red all day, but that red spread to the tip of his ears.

“Something wrong?”Zane asked.

Wrong? No, nothing was wrong, but things could be very wrong.Bailey’s chest tightened. He pondered over what to say.He wasn’t sure why it made him nervous. They were dating. It wasn’t like the two hadn’t done more than kiss.He just didn’t want to fuck it up, and Bailey felt like he always did that, so it made him nervous.

Finally, with a deep breath Bailey squeaked, “Why don’t we take a shower together?”

Bailey couldn’t bear to look at Zane.It was obvious what he had implied.Though, if he looked, he wouldn’t have seen anything other than a blank expression. For a few moments, Zane thought he misheard. He waited, like he expected Bailey to explain himself. When all the boy did was blush all the way down his neck, Zane realized that, yeah, he heard right.

“We can do that, if you want,” Zane said, his voice much softer than he had planned.
