Chapter Fourteen
“Damien. Please don’t.” She says, yet leans her face into my hand, pressing hard against my palm.
I can feel that she wants me too. She always did. Like Bonnie and Clyde, we were meant for each other.
“Why not?”
Scoffing, she closes her eyes. “It can’t be. You are who you are, and I am who I am.”
“Fuck it.”
“It’s not that simple.”
“It can be.” I say, moving my hand to the back of her head and up her scalp, digging my fingers in and grabbing the roots of her hair in a fist, pulling it taught just enough to make her look at me like she used to.
I see the switch flip in her the moment the pain registers in her and I pull harder, holding her head still, leaning in more.
When my lips brush against hers, it’s like a clap of thunder in a summer storm. A loud noise inside of me crashes, and I give in to it, taking her mouth in a deep, searing kiss that feels like a rebirth.
I can hear the little moan of protest, and it’s not convincing, especially when she opens her mouth and lets me slide my tongue inside. The past five years without her have disappeared in an instant. All the heartbreak, the pain, the misery, is lifted with one fucking kiss, in public, in a café, while I’m supposed to be ending her.
“Damien.” She whispers through the kiss. “We can’t.”
“Shut up and just give in. We’ll figure it all out later.”
I can’t stop now; it would be impossible. Not now that I have her back in my grip. I can’t lose her again. I wouldn’t survive it.
Without a care in the world besides being with her, I stand up, trying not to break the kiss, and lift her up, bringing her into my arms. We can’t stay here, not where Valentino could easily look in and see what we’re doing, and place a contract out for us both.
“The back door. I’m parked out back.” She pants into my mouth grabbing onto the sides of my head and kissing me harder, her body melting into my arms as I carry her through the coffee shop to the applause of all the other patrons who watch us go.
I take us down the back hallway, past the restrooms, and to the back door. It flies open with a solid kick on the push bar, slamming into the brick wall outside with a loud cracking sound of mortar against metal.
“Such a brute.” She says, shoving her tongue farther down my throat like she wants to devour me.
“You like it, don’t deny it.”
“I’m not.”
“God this feels right.” I say, stopping in the parking lot outside, looking for her vehicle.
“It’s not. But you’re right, fuck it.” She sighs into my mouth. “Blacked out Escalade.”
“Of course.” I say, sucking on her tongue, barely forming my two words beyond anything but a mumble.
The lights of the SUV flash as she reaches between us and finds the key fob in her purse, and the doors unlock with a hefty click.
“I’m gonna fuck you in here so that your men can smell it when you get home.” I growl, pulling open the door and practically chucking her inside on the rear seat.
“Ewww.” She says with a huffed breath as she lands on the leather bench, her legs dropping open as I climb in with her, slamming the door behind me, shutting out the world.
My hands practically claw at the black leggings that cling to her, yanking them down to her knee-high boots, ripping them off, and chucking everything on the floor of the SUV. I need to have her now, no more waiting, no more pining for the feeling of her. She’s here now, and I’m having her.
“Damien.” She moans, arching her back, letting me pull off her oversized tunic, baring her to me in nothing but her lacey white bra that holds her perky tits in perfect position.
“This has to go too.” I say, reaching behind her and flicking open the strap, peeling the thing off her and adding it to the pile on the floor.
Completely naked under me except for her socks, she looks like the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, even more so than she used to be. She’s more mature now, a little fuller in the hips and tits, and if I didn’t know better I’d think she was an in the flesh goddess, like Aphrodite.
