“Baby, babies, whatever you want.I didn’t want a family with anyone else because my family is with you. It’s with our babies, how ever many of them we choose to have.”
“You want to have my baby.”
“Again.”
“Again,” he murmured.“You want to have my baby?”
After a beat, a grin burst on his face.He grabbed her up in his arms, sweeping her clear off the floor. She laughed and clutched him tight, desperately trying to kiss him. When he turned to meet her mouth, the moment switched in one heated instant and her back hit the wall.
Holding his face, she broke their union.“Not right here in the hallway though.”
“Daddy?”
Both kids were there, outside Kye’s room, peering at their crazy parents.
“Beautiful sprouts,” JD announced and kissed her again before putting her back on her feet.“Mommy and Daddy are going to get wedded.”
She laughed again.“Okay, let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”
Too late.Sky was already shrieking in delight.JD scooped the twins up from the floor and kissed each one.
“Wedded and then you’ll get your baby sister.”
“No matter how many shots it takes?”she asked.
He glanced back, admired her for a second, then put the kids down.“Go play more game, we’ll get you in a minute.”As they trotted off, he called after them, “Daddy’s taking you out somewhere special today, put on whatever you want!”
“What about work?”she asked.“Your mom—”
“You’ve just made me the happiest man alive, you think I can sit in a chair and listen to anyone today?”
“You can sit in a chair and listen to me,” she said, sauntering over to loosen his tie.“I have some criteria.”
“Another contract. This should be interesting.Hit me with it.”
“We both have to be involved, fully committed involved.I want both of us to have time off after any births there might be.We raise our children together.I don’t have a problem with having an office here, so we can work from home when necessary. But you have to take off as many days as I do, we split caring duty, whatever it takes.”
“You want me to be a stay-at-home dad?Play with the kids all day and impregnate you at night?I can get onboard with that.”
Oh, he thought he was so funny.Trouble was, he was just the right kind of crazy for her.Yes, just like Zairn and Roxie, she loved his crazy too.
“This is a long term project, not something that can happen overnight. We need to think about space, if we have to move—”
“I’ve taken care of that.”
Huh, uh… “How did you do that?”
“We bought the place upstairs.”
“When did we do that?”
“Last week.”
“You know I rent this place, right? This apartment doesn’t belong to me.”
“No, I thought we’d put it in the kids’ names,” he said and shrugged.“I bought this one too.”Her jaw dropped.“We’re meeting with our architect and a couple of contractors this week.”
“Why did you—”
