This blue-and-white room was perfect, the bed big enough for several bodies, and for rolling around on. Man, there would definitely be a lot more rolling going on from here on out.
The drapes billowed in the warm sea breeze coming off the Mediterranean, everything about this space so special, so romantic.
The three vases of red roses Xavier bought me yesterday helped.
“I could stay right here forever,” I said softly.
He stroked my spine. “Can I hold you to that?”
“Absolutely.”
My cum wasn’t silver after all, but still made a mess on my chest. We hit the shower after peeling ourselves off the bed, cleaning up, making out, then jerking each other off until the water went cold.
Fresh as daisies, we got back into bed for snuggles. In a little while, we’d be… Well, we’d see. Maybe I’d be the top this time.
The bedroom door crashed open. I yelped, springing off the bed at the same time as Xavier, a thin jet of silk firing out of my fingertips. It splattered on the wall beside the door, narrowly missing the naked man standing there.
“What the fuck!” I bellowed.
“Roman…”
“What bullshit is this?” Things were sailing at too much of a happy pace. I just knew someone would come along to shit on it.
“Roman…” Xavier repeated.
“You fired a spider web at me?” the intruder said.
Only, he wasn’t an intruder. He was Darcy. A very naked, human Darcy.
“Huh?” I blinked at him, waiting for the rest of me to catch up. “You’re…”
He smiled. “Human.”
“Huh?” Was I dreaming?
Darcy came into the room, gesticulating. “I was sleeping on the beach, minding my own business, dreaming about cookies. And the next thing I knew, I’m waking up in this body.” He slapped his chest. “Inmybody, Roman.” He laughed, jumping up and down.
My brain misfired, struggling to process this. “You’re…human?”
He nodded, stroking his chin. “I think it’s down to the change in Synth. You know how spells are disappearing? Well, that must be it. The essence of the spell that turned me no longer exists. Gone.” He clapped his hands once.
I felt my lips spread upward, my brain finally catching up. “You’re human. You’re actually human.” I burst into laughter, then ran at him.
“I’m human!”
We hugged and danced in a circle. I wanted to cry and sing like I was in the climactic scene of a musical.
My bestie got to live a longer life. He got to be a man again. There weren’t enough yays in the world to do this happiness justice.
We stopped dancing, still hugging.
He went rigid.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“You’re naked.”
“Oh. Yeah. So are you.”
