Almost Two P.M
Back At The Estate
When Poe said he wanted to shop, he absolutely wanted to shop.
They hit a little boutique where he bought cute things for each of the family’s kids.
Then, he bought some bougie chocolates for everyone, and some good tea to keep him in supply for what seemed like the next ten years.
And Gamble just let him do his thing.
Why not?
He wasn’t thinking about what was waiting for them, and with each moment out, they were safe.
Only, Gamble’s head was on the swivel nonstop as he kept his focus on everyone around them. He had to stay on his game, making sure that Poe was safe.
He wasn’t losing his husband during this mayhem and on the first day after getting him.
Pass.
It wasn’t happening.
They were both leaving tonight in one piece if he had anything to say about it.
After going to the local international shipping company, they had everything sent back.
To Chartres.
Gamble knew that Spiders watched the place, and they would handle the packages.
Hopefully, not as bombs. They were almost as paranoid as Zayn, and possibly that was a damn good thing.
Then, they headed into the castle, off to get ready for the party.
Again, they separated.
Gamble had one more surprise for the man. It involved a haircut and his special outfit. He was going to make sure he looked the part of a husband and Marine.
For Poe.
If he was being introduced as the man’s husband tonight, to the other nobility, he was going to be prepared. It was wild to Gamble that he was now a duke too.
Technically.
It was all kinds of weird since he grew up poor and invisible. Now, he was the total opposite.
As he finished up, he opened the bedroom door, and Poe was in the bathroom.
“Babe?” he called out.
“I’m finishing up shaving. I’ll be right out, Gamble,” he said. “We could have gotten ready together. I like looking at you naked.”
He grinned.
Well, he wanted to see his face when he showed up fully ready for tonight.
Heading into the middle of the room, he stood there, and waited.
