When he broke the kiss, he smiled.

“That was nice too. Now, I’m not sure which I like better. That kiss or the blowjob.”

She giggled.

“I like being in your lap. It’s a nice place to be, Finn,” she said.

He could see that.

“Do it more often, Lass. My lap is now your lap,” he admitted.

Oh, she planned on it.

He tucked some of her wild, riotous curls behind her ear, and enjoyed the view.

“You can touch me too,” she said. “It’ll take me a while not to be jumpy, but eventually I’ll relearn the behavior. I wish he didn’t make me like this.”

He did too.

But that wasn’t her fault, or his.

It was her ex’s.

“I’m going to say something, and I’ll apologize in advance. I’m glad he was horrible. If he wasn’t, I wouldn’t have you. Forgive me.”

She kissed him softly.

“Yeah, you would have. The heart knows when it knows,” she said. “I would have found you.”

Oh, that was another miracle.

“I love you, Lass. I really do.”

She nuzzled him.

“And I love you, Fineas.”

When she rested her head on his shoulder, he let her take her time. Breakfast could wait. These moments couldn’t. He wanted the memories of his lass and their courtship so that he could tell his children one day when they asked about how their mum and their father got together.

When she was finally ready, she slipped from his lap, and he waited for her to buckle into the seatbelt.

Then, he was tucking himself away.

She didn’t miss that he was still hard.

And for her.

God.

It was a good day.

“After we eat, we can head to the church, and see if we can get information,” he offered. “The tattoo place doesn’t open until noon. We have some time, Lass.”

She didn’t mind.

“Okay, Finn. I think I want to get something different than what I said yesterday,” she admitted.

“What?” he asked.
