“What look?”

“The look I get when I’m working and I kill people for a living.” This fool then took a bite of the green apple in his hand.

I shook my head and keyed in the address for the corner store her bitch ass baby father worked out of.

“Who works out of a fucking corner store? What the fuck we doing?” Reminisce asked after I pulled off.

“You have a lot of questions. You sure you don’t want me to drop you back off at your bike?”

He laughed. “Ohhh, this is personal. I can tell. Who we going to see?”

“Caya’s bitch ass baby daddy,” I grumbled, not believing my own actions at this point. I wasn’t even fucking, but I was on my way to put hands on her baby father for fucking with her. I liked her energy pure and untouched, not bothered and tainted behind the fucking help. She wasn’t my girl, but I gladly signed up to maintain her energy.

“She has a kid? You bouta go beat her baby father’s ass?” I knew the expression on his face before I looked at him.

I nodded.

“Well, aight.” His loud chewing ass ate the apple while I drove for all of thirty seconds before his mouth was open again.

“You sure she ain’t still fucking him?”

I cut my eyes between the corner I’d just bent and him. “Hell nah.”

He let the window down and chucked the apple pit out. “So, again, why we beating his ass?”

“Because he grabbed her up in the restaurant and is fucking with her. Keeps calling and shit.”

Silence.

“But don’t they got a kid?”

“Whose life he ain’t in.” I found myself sounding like a straight up sap behind Caya’s ass.

“Okay. One more question.”

I pulled up in front of the store, eyes trained on the door before I looked over at my brother. “What?”

“This got something to do with Mama?”

“Nope,” I answered and hopped out of the car before his inquisitive ass asked any more questions.

As soon as I entered the little market type corner store, my eyes landed on him leaned against the counter talking to a thick ass chick. From the stupid grin on her face he was macking too, but I was straight about to dead that shit.

“Yo, you Syke right?” I asked, watching Reminisce walk up the opposite aisle.

“Yeah, who’s asking?” He puffed out his chest.

I stepped in front of him, towering over him then looking at ol’ girl. “Ay, lil mama, you might wanna take a walk.”

She peeped the situation because she definitely looked from me to him before telling him she’d catch him later.

“Yo, do I know you, my man?” he asked, attempting to hide how badly he wanted to piss his pants. I could see the fear in his eyes, even though he was attempting to appear so hard.

“Nah, but you know a friend of mine, and from what I hear, you put your hands on her. Stalking her and shit.”

“Ain’t nobody touch Tandy, she lying.” He threw his hands up in surrender immediately.

“Good thing I don’t know who the fuck that is. I’m talking about Caya.”
