“I love your body.” He buried his teeth in his bottom lip.

“What about it do you love?”

“The way it belongs to me.” He kissed my bare chest right after he helped me out of my bra.

I smiled so fucking hard. I couldn’t help it.

“You good with the water getting in your hair?” he asked before pressing the buttons on the outer shower wall.

“Doesn’t matter.”

He nodded and seconds later the shower sounded like a rainforest. He then turned his attention back to me. When he licked those perfectly proportioned lips attached to his face, I almost creamed. Fuck he was fine, even more fine in this heavily attentive ass moment.

He opened the door for me to step in, then left the washroom. When he returned he was shirtless, holding my body wash and a towel.

In the plainest of terms, that man spent the next fifteen minutes paying attention to every part of my body like a masseuse with a happy ending. When he told me to turn around or step under the water, I happily obliged each time.

After I was showered and moisturized, Rennix hopped in the shower while I elected to take care of Adonis. I wasn’t shocked when I walked into the room and he was asleep. My baby was quick to fall asleep. I didn’t want to wake him up, so I just undressed him and tucked him in. When it came to Adonis, I never had to worry about him waking up in the middle of the night, because ever since he was a newborn, he slept through the night. I kissed him goodnight and left to join Rennix in the living room.

He was laid across the sofa, his attention on his phone.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been in love before. Then you came, and though I prejudged everything about the person I thought you were, you still made me fall in love with you. Nothing about you wavered, because baby for a minute I was waiting on the other shoe to drop but it didn’t.”

“Because both shoes are on the ground, baby, ten toes down behind you and him. Now get yo’ fine ass over here.”

I smiled hard. “You so corny.”

He laughed. “Probably, but that corny shit had you smiling, didn’t it?”

“I’m wondering if I should wake Adonis up to eat dinner or let him sleep.”

He waved me off. “Let him sleep. He ate good today. Breakfast, snacks, pretzels and shit with Reminisce, and we had sandwiches before you got to the house.”

I nodded and stalked over to where he lay on the sofa. His hands were on my hips almost instantly, pulling me into his lap.

“How are you feeling mentally?” His hands found my thighs, massaging up and down.

“Like I’m tired. I’ll have more energy tomorrow after a full night’s rest.”

“Or you could take some fucking time off. You been tryna move while carrying my child and doing hair. Just focus on this right now.”

“I am not pregnant, Rennix.”

“How do you know that?”

I looked at him like he was crazy. “How do I know what? My body? Plus I’m on birth control.”

“Are you? I forgot all about that shit, but it doesn’t much matter because nothing manmade can stand against what’s put into motion by God.”

I cackled, reaching down and locking my hands in his. “You are a nut.”

“Nope. I’m dead ass serious. You might as well adopt my way of thinking before you find yourself on the wrong side of history in about seven or eight months.”

More laughter escaped my lips. “Rennix.”

“I’m dead ass serious though. I want you to take some time and focus on getting everything in order so you’re not doing three to five things at once. I swear if I could, I’d have your spotpacked up and moved here by Monday, but I can’t. I don’t know what you intend to keep or what you intend to leave.”

I just looked at him. What he was saying was true even though he was a complete nut saying it. Moving and attempting to work full-time was indeed beating down on me.
