"What if they're the problem at the farm. What if it's them?" I ask, referring to the vandalism. They glance at each other.
"Do you think it's them?" Rose asks, never taking her eyes off her phone.
"Well, no, but how would I know."
"You can't know, but trusting your instincts is a good start. Does your omega think it's them?" Winnie asks. My omega purrs within me. She definitely doesn't think it's them. She's wholeheartedly wondering why we aren't with them right now.
"No." I admit."
The girls are all staring at me expectantly.
"Fine," I finally concede.
Clara lets out a little squeak and nearly spills the drinks she's carrying. "What are you going to say when you email them back?"
"I don't know. I thought I'd get to it later."
"Everyone has email on their phone, including you," Rose reminds me while typing away on her own, probably sending an email as she speaks. "There's absolutely no reason to put it off."
I roll my eyes, but take out my phone, pull up their email, and hit reply.
Night Pack,
That would be fine.
From,
The ignorant hillbilly with nothing up her ass
I read it out loud at Clara's behest and everyone frowns. Winnie's chin is propped in her fist and she's looking at me like I've grown a second head.
“You cannot—" she starts, but I cut her off.
"I've sent it. It's done." I hit send with a dramatic flair. Everyone groans, and I hear a whispered “Jesus Christ” from Cali.
"Okay, well, let us know what they say," Winnie says. But at that moment, my phone pings with a new email notification.

Thesittingareaofthis place's only hotel suite is full of nervous and angry alphas. Last night, we drafted the email we wanted to send to Sunny. Cole had tried to write it himself, but he came up with a demanding mess. So, we'd all put in our two cents until what we had sounded halfway decent. I'm proud. The omega is getting us to work together more than we have in a long time, and she's hardly done anything. Imagine if she were bonded with us.
This morning, we decided to strategize by working on things that can be done on the computers. If Sunny gets back to us, none of us wants to be in meetings. It's Wednesday, and if she gives us the time of day, we all want to be available.
So, we work. Cole is sending off emails to headquarters and directing our leadership team. Luca is following up with some ongoing constructions at our established hotels while designing the resort to be built here. Jess completes work on ongoing marketing campaigns and developing strategies. I'm ensuringthat the finishing touches on nearly-complete projects are done through virtual meetings with my team.
Cole huffs a dark laugh from across the room that instantly has all of our attention.
"What?" Luca asks first.
"She replied," he says darkly. We cross the room to check out the email.
I've prepared for the worst, but what I find isn't so bad. Jess doubles over in a complete fit of laughter at the little spitfire throwing Cole's shitty language right back at him. Cole isn't a bad guy by any means. If he were, I wouldn't be in his pack. But when it comes to business, he can be ruthless and rude. Whatever it takes to get what he wants.
Cole pinches the bridge of his nose. "What do I even do with this?"
"She said yes," I point out. "Just focus on that."
"And reply now before she realizes who she just emailed," Jess adds, wiping tears of joy from his eyes. He looks so happy. Heat builds in my chest to see him so happy. I'm glad to have smiling Jess back instead of the depressed, snarky, asshole I've been dealing with for almost a year.
