I lower to one knee on the damp, wet ground, raise my rifle, and fire off at the redhead.

The bullet hits him right in the side of the head and he falls to the ground straight on his knees.

A small sound, almost like a huff of laughter escapes from Caleb and before I know it, he's raised his rifle, stepping two feetforward as he plants another bullet between the redhead man's eyes, making sure he's dead. The other two men go silent, and everything next happens as if in slow motion.

I shiver, blinking so hard my lashes flutter as I drop the gun to the ground. My jaw drops as his body jerks before toppling over to his side onto the crunchy grass.

"Caleb,"I gasp, looking over at him with my eyes welling up. I look down quickly, wondering why I'm down on the ground. My eyes slide to the gun.

Why's this gun here?

Shivering, my eyes go back to the other men, and I start to cry hot tears rolling unchecked down my face at the blank look in their eyes as they stare at the still redhead, and the sight of red spreading across the frosty ground.

The other two men gawk, but one seems to come to his senses fast. Not sparing us another glance, he turns to run, and Caleb takes a single step forward and pulls the trigger, felling him, and then turns and blows the other man's brains clean out of his head not even two seconds later. I turn my head, looking over Caleb, who's lowering his rifle, visibly relaxing.

His eyes go to me, and then soften. "Are you okay?" he asks, sounding hesitant.

"Yes…N-No…"My teeth chatter, and his eyes slide from me to the dead men.

"Ringo, go with Camilla to the Jeep," he says sharply, keeping his eyes glued to the three lifeless men bleeding out onto the ground.

Ringo comes up to me, butting his head against my hand, but I'm frozen. Petrified with shock. He turns to look at me and then raises his hand. I stand frozen as he touches my cheek gently, but I continue to shiver as bone chilling cold mercilessly slices through my body.

"W-Wh-What…." I gasp, swallowing so hard I almost choke. "Caleb, what happened?"

He sighs. "Tamryn, go to the jeep."

I turn tear filled eyes to his. "You killed them? Why?"

"Tamryn. Get. To. The.Fucking. Jeep!"he roars, his face flushing, taking a step towards me.

Turning, I sprint as fast as I can towards the vehicle and then I climb in the passenger seat, banging my knee as I go. Ringo jumps up there with me, and I hold my hands to my face as I rock, and wait. For forever it feels like.

Caleb jumps in the driver's seat, breathing hard, and then starts the engine. "Are you okay?" he grits out.

"Y-Yes. Yes, I'm okay," I shudder as visions of the dead men begin to evade every thought in my brain as does the look Caleb just gave me, yelling at me.

He puts his hand flat on the wheel and then looks behind him as he backs out between a pair of oak trees and then spins us towards the direction of the house. I'm panting, my eyes flickering as we journey deeper into the property, and when he pulls right up to the house I jump out of the passenger side and up the steps. Bursting through the front door and not stopping until I get to the bathroom.

I lock the door.

It's not until the sun starts to go down do I hear a knock at the door. "Tamryn, let me in. You can't stay in there all night."

"No!" I yell, clambering into the tub and closing the shower curtain.

He bangs harder."Tamryn!"

"I saidno!"

There's an almighty crash as he kicks the door down, and I scream, huddling against the shower wall. He climbs in with me fully clothed, taking up most of the small space. Our boots knock against each other , and in our struggles the water turnson as he pulls me to him by my shoulders. I thrash my head side to side, screaming and punching against his chest that feel like cinderblocks.

The blows may as well be as soft as feathers for as much of an affect they have on him. He pulls me against his body easily, and I cry out at the first touch of my breasts to his chest. His breath slicks across my cheek and neck as he brings his face to mine and then nudges my curls away with his chin.

"Come to me, baby," he grits against my ear, pressing a kiss to the pounding vein just underneath. "I need to talk to you, I need to make sure you're okay."

My eyelids flicker. "Oh, God." I moan, squeezing my eyes shut, feeling the cool water weighing our clothes down. "What are we doing?" I gasp, shivering as his hands grip strongly at the back of my head. Pulling my head back to stare him in the eyes.

"Tamryn, give me Camilla," he grits out, his dark eyes pools of emotion.
