“I think all that work deserves some lunch,” Wyatt says, pulling his ball cap off to wipe the sweat off his forehead before placing it back on.

“I could eat right about now.” Emma blows a lock of hair that’s escaped from her messy bun out of her face.

She looks so damn sexy right now in her jeans that form around her ass perfectly and tight shirt.

“Weston.” Wyatt chuckles.

“Huh?” I blink over at him. He gives me a knowing smirk. Well, fuck him, I know he’s been drunk off Red just as much as I have today.

“Yeah, food. Good good.”

Emma giggles. “Alright, caveman.” She winks. “Let’s go change and then we can head out. I’m sweating like a pig.”

“Actually, pigs don’t really sweat all that much,” Wyatt informs her. “If you want a better representation, I’d say you're sweating like a horse.”

“Huh,” she says with a small grin. “You learn something new every day.”

“Just doing what I can.” Wyatt winks as he tips his hat, making her laugh.

Emma starts walking down toward her cabin. I hang back and walk with Wyatt, partly to tease him for being corny as fuck but also to be a creeper and stare at Emma’s ass.

My brother and I head back to the main house and take a quick shower before meeting up with Emma.

We knock on her door. “Come in!” she calls out. Stepping inside, I see from the looks of her wet hair, she must have had the same idea.

Even now, she’s beautiful.

“All good, Red?” I ask as she gathers her wet strands back up into a messy bun.

“Yup.” She gives me a beaming smile. “Do you know how nice it is not to have to worry about picking out the right outfit, making sure my makeup is perfect and that my hair is styled nicely.”

Every day she spends here, I can see her growing more relaxed. We might joke about her impending divorce, but the reality is that she has a lot on her plate, and it’s a big deal.

We don’t want to minimize that, but give her a good time to get away from it as long as she can before she’s forced to deal with it.

I just hope by the end of her trip, she sees how much she could enjoy a life like this. Free from the busy city, and the uptight rich people who only care about looks, money and power.

On the ride to the diner, Emma talks about the phone call she had with her best friend back home. How she told her about us and her friend encouraged her to enjoy the time she has.

“So, Penny is team cowboys?” I chuckle, shooting her an amused grin.

“Very much so.” Emma blushes and looks out the front window.

My hand moves to her thigh, loving the fact that she changed into a sundress. Her breath hitches, her eyes flicking over to mine. I give her a smirk and a wink.

Then the truck comes to a stop and I curse to myself, seeing we’re here.

Hopping down out of the truck, I hold my hand out to help her down. “Why thank you, kind sir.” She giggles and my chest fills with warmth as her hand lays in mine.

She squeals as I grab her around the waist, pulling her to me as I pick her up out of the truck and spin her around before placing her on her feet. I grin as I take the hand still in mine and place a kiss on the back of it. “My lady.”

“And you say I’m corny,” Wyatt snorts.

“Because you are,” I shoot back and he rolls his eyes, flipping me off.

“Hey, little sister.” I greet Sophia when we step into the diner. She only works part time, mostly just fills in when someone calls out sick. Since she had Josie, she’s been a stay at home mom, but Marshall suggested starting back here when he saw how cooped up she was. She doesn’t mind doing things around the ranch, but it’s not something she really enjoys.

“Hey, you three.” She smiles, her black hair done up in a high pony tale. “How are these two shitheads treating you?” she asks Emma.
