EPILOGUE

SEVEN MONTHS LATER- NEW YEAR'S EVE

The Copper Kitten is packed tonight. Everyone in town is here for the ball drop. It’s loud, rowdy and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

It’s been over half a year since I returned to Wild Thorn Ranch, and I’ve not once regretted my decision.

At first, I thought it might take me some time getting used to a new lifestyle, that I might miss being able to buy what I want, when I want.

That wasn’t the case. I felt at ease, like this was how my life was always meant to be. Waking up early, working with the twins, going home with them after a long day or heading down to the main house for family supper.

My life is still rich, but in many different ways. I have the love of my men, my new family members and the friends I’ve come to make.

I’m excited to wake up between the guys each morning and fall asleep sweaty and tired at the end of the night.

The biggest reality check I had was being proven just how fake people were. It’s like everyone forgot about me. The ones who called me a friend, never reached out to see how I was doing or anything. Not that I care, they were never true friends of mine.

No, my real friends are Hadley and Sophia. I’ve even started growing closer to Carson too.

My dad and I still don’t talk. That hurts more than I’d like to admit.

But my mom texts me every once in a while to check-in. That means more than she knows.

I have a new family, a real family who loves me. The Wilders are all I need.

“Hey Emma.” Hadley finds me in the crowd where I’ve been dancing with Sophia. The guys are behind the bar, helping the bartender keep up.

Watching them up there slinging bottles is a lot sexier than it should be. Or maybe I’m biased because they’re mine and everything they do is sexy.

“Here.” She hands me a drink. I take it, nerves filling me. I was hoping everyone would be too drunk to notice I’m not drinking tonight.

“No thanks,” I yell back over the music and hand the glass back to her.

She gives me a funny look. “You're not drinking tonight? It’s New Year's. We’re supposed to get drunk and party!”

“I’m just not feeling it tonight,” I tell her.

“Why?” She laughs. “What are you like pregnant or something?”

My stomach drops and my eyes flick between her and Sophia.

“Oh my god, you are!” Sophia’s face lights up.

“Shut the fuck up!” Hadley gapes at me. “No fucking way!”

“Shhh,” I shout back. “The guys don’t know yet.”

“Holy shit, this is amazing,” Hadley squeals.

“Josie gets a cousin.” Sophia’s eyes well with tears. “I’m so happy for you.”

“Thanks.” I give each of them a hug. “I plan on telling Wyatt and Weston tonight. I don’t think I could go into the new year keeping this to myself.”

“I’m gonna go behind the bar and help out so you and my brothers can hang out.” Hadley downs the drink she got for me.

“I don’t think you're supposed to drink on the job.” I laugh.

Hadley shrugs. “Makes it more fun.” She winks then takes off.
