Chapter 18

Jo

That only happens in pornos.

I'mbrushingmyteethwhen I hear a scream and then a thud.

"Shit." I curse with a mouthful of toothpaste. I spit and wipe my mouth as I take the stairs two at a time.

I totally forgot about the fake snake.

I barrel into Bryson's room and he's a slump of a human on the floor.

And he's naked.

Now is definitelynotthe time to admire his body and reminisce about how his dick felt against me earlier but tell that to my lady bits.

An inner clench happens as I rush to run a washcloth under cold water. I press it to his forehead while lightly smacking his chest, trying to wake him up.

He's breathing, thank goodness, and the way he's curled up tells me he didn't fall straight back and hit his head.

Bryson gasps a breath and his eyes fly open. Suddenly he grips my arms and rolls us so he's on top of me.

My lady bits are standing at attention. Ready for orders.

"Jo, we have to get out of here. It's not safe." He says with wild eyes scanning the darkness for the threat.

"We're fine Bryson." I try to reassure him but he scoops me under the arms and lifts so we're standing pressed against each other.

I'm still in my kit but he's naked and my fingers are dying to explore. I want to know what that dusting of chest hair feels like. At the very least Iwant to reach up and hold his head still. He keeps whipping it back and forth looking for the nonexistent snake.

"Oh fuck." He whines and he takes a deep breath. "I think it's still in the bed."

"Bryson, I got it."

"No Jo, I can't let you sacrifice yourself for me. If there's one, there's probably more. I saw the fangs and it had like a double rattle thing on its tail so it's definitely venomous." He says in a craze as he slowly moves our joined bodies closer to the door. His body trembles as he holds me. I think I like being able to comfort him.

"You're really that afraid of snakes?" I ask as he continues walking us out to the living room. I knew he didn't like them but I didn't expect a fainting spell followed by terror driven ramblings.

"They're unnatural creatures." he says in a whisper. "They smell with their tongues."

"Okay," I try not to laugh. I pull back enough to put some space between my head and his chest. I like that he has chest hair. He didn't have that when we were younger. Before I let myself get carried away and take advantage of a terrified and naked Bryson I push off his chest.

"I'll be right back."

"Jo!" He cries. "I can't let you go in there."

I am so tempted to tell him it's fake, that I found it in a trunk in the bunk room. But I also can't resist the opportunity to have a little fun.

"You're right, I shouldn't go in unprotected." I say as seriously as I can. Bryson watches with rapt attention as I cross over to the kitchen and get out a pair of dish gloves and a set of tongs.

"Is there a blow torch?" Bryson asks.
