I was afraid of that. Biting the tip of my fingernail, I mull over my plan. “There’s got to be some way I can find it. Is there any place you know of that would at least be a good starting point?”

He traces his thumb and forefinger down his beard. “I’m sorry, Haze.”

Cass and Jules give me sympathizing shrugs.

“Wait,” Jack says, turning icy blues back to me. “You’re not going to like this, but you could try Lucky’s. There’s been talk between our customers that the bar has had some heavy Remi traffic in and out of it for months now.”

Just the name makes my blood run cold.

Worry lines tug Jules’s full lips into a frown. “Hazel, you don’t have to go back there.”

“It’s okay, really. I won’t go alone.” I smile, a little ashamed of the easy lie.

Jack eyes me for a moment. “You said you needed more manpower. I assume you meant us?”

“If we can infiltrate his compound and destroy it, we could catch Bruce when he’s on the run and take him out.” It’s hard to keep the murderous disdain from my voice.

“And what about Ben and Jackie and all the other men inside?” Derrick asks.

Well, I hadn’t exactly gotten to that part of the plan yet. “We can cause some sort of diversion to get them outside, then burn the place to the ground the way Cooper planned to with Jackie’s mansion.”

Micah shakes his head. “That’s too risky, Haze.”

“I know it sounds insane, trust me. But the longer we sit and wait, the longer we allow Bruce to have the upper hand.” I gesture to Cassidy’s belly. “It’s time to fight for what’s ours.”

I patiently wait as they talk amongst themselves. If they don’t agree to help us, I don’t know what I’ll have to resort to.

Ever the leader, Jack finally gives me a nod. “Okay, count us in.”

“Thank you,” I breathe.

“Take the Wolves with you to Lucky’s. Scope it out and see what you guys find, then let us know when you want to act.”

There’s no way I’m taking them to Lucky’s, but I nod anyway. “Good idea.”

“Keep us posted,” Derrick says before he and the guys make for the exit.

Micah points to me before walking out. “And be safe.”

“The safest.” I cross my heart, even though it pounds beneath my fingertip.

I turn to my friends and look at Cassidy’s belly. “How’s the baby?”

Beaming at my sudden interest, Cass pats her bump. “She’s growing like a little weed.”

She.

Jules elbows me in the ribs. “She’s going to be my little sidekick.”

“I don’t know if I’m ready for the trouble you two will be causing.” I watch Cassidy’s belly bounce as she laughs. “Oh! She’s moving.”

When Cassidy grabs my wrist, I surprise myself by allowing her to place my hand over the spot.

Juliana’s fingers brush mine as she scurries to feel for the baby too.

A forceful thump hits the center of my palm, and I look straight at Cassidy.

“Cool, huh?” Her eyes sparkle.
