And fucking over.
The moment I got back to my car, I jerked off right there in the middle of the fucking street. I couldn’t handle it anymore. I may have come in my pants once, but it wasn’t enough.
But that’s when I realized how much fucking trouble I’m in.
The door wrenches open, and my cousin smiles broadly. “Puck! What a surprise.” She steps back, her red heels clicking on the tile floor as she lets me enter.
“Yeah, sorry for just showing up, Rebecca.” I follow her into the kitchen, where her Omega, Yvette, is making coffee.
Yvette’s tight black spirals are pulled back with a pretty, ornate clip, and she’s wearing scrubs. She’s clearly about to head to her job at the hospital. Rebecca kisses the back of her neck and hums softly. “Morning, love,” she whispers before leading me into the dining room.
I perch awkwardly on a chair, still feeling wrung out and raw from my night with Crystal. Rebecca’s smooth black hair is pinned back behind her ears and cascades over her shoulder as she tilts her head at me. “What’s going on, Puck?”
I’m tapping my foot rapidly, worrying the skin around my fingernails. I can’t make eye contact with her when I admit, “I need another dose.”
She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. “No.”
“Rebecca,” I plead. “I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t an emergency. Please.”
“I can’t, in good conscience, let you keep doing this to yourself. It’s not healthy.”
“I don’t have a choice!” I snarl. “You know that.”
She rubs the back of her neck. “I know. But it’s not like I keep it lying around anymore.”
“But you can get me some, right? Uncle E can get me some?” I’m desperate. If Rebecca can’t help me, I’m screwed. Worse than screwed.
Rebecca taps her foot nearly as fast as mine. “Why? What’s going on? You look like you’re about to crawl out of your skin.”
“One of the Omegas at work got dosed last night. I … I was with her all night.” The words feel dirty as soon as I say them, and Rebecca’s face twists in fury before I can rush and say, “I didn’t touch her! Not like that. No matter how much she begged. I just kept her safe and made sure she didn’t call anyone. But…”
“It was too much for you.”
“It was way too much.” Pain lances my chest, and I nearly double over. “I’m going to have a massive problem soon if I don’t get another dose.”
Yvette comes in and sets coffee in front of each of us. “I can help you through it, you know that, right? You’re family. I can help you get off of it.”
“I can’t. I need it.” Why are they making me beg? Don’t they realize I don’t like this any more than they do?
“I can’t force you, of course, but Puck, this can’t continue. You’re going to cause permanent damage to your body.” Yvette leans on Rebecca’s chair, resting a hand on her shoulder. “I know I’m a broken record here, but this isn’t the way to do it. It won’t bring her back.”
“You don’t know anything,” I snarl. “I’m so close. I need a little bit more, and then I can stop. I promise.”
She shakes her head sadly and turns to leave, but stops right before she does. She doesn’t look at me as she says quietly, “You know what this means, right? That you need it this badly, this soon?”
I don’t want to admit it.
It won’t be true if I don’t think it or say it out loud.
She doesn’t wait for my answer before leaving the room.
I’m crawling out of my skin. My body doesn’t feel like mine anymore. I feel disconnected from it.
I’ve never let it get this bad before.
Rebecca sighs heavily as she watches me struggle in my chair. Eventually, she gives me a tight nod. “Let me make some calls.”
