“Of course I’ll marry you!”
I remove the ring from the box and slide it onto her finger. Finally, all my nerves ease and excitement for the next chapter of my life fills my chest and has my heart racing. Once the ring is on her finger, she inspects it a moment before wrapping her arms around my neck and pulling me in for a hard, passionate kiss. I can finally let myself go. I pull her against me until she’s sitting on my lap on the kitchen floor. Her arms and legs are wrapped around me and when I stand, I take her with me.
Walking through the living room, I get busy unbuttoning her shirt. By the time we get to the bedroom, there’s a trail of our clothing and only our pants are left to shed. I lie her down on the bed and kick my shoes off as I climb up her body. Her hands are already rushing to unfasten my pants and she uses her legs to push them down my body. When they’re off, she pushes against my chest until I roll over. She quickly removes her own pants before climbing on top of me. I lift my head and capture her nipple into my mouth and her back arches into me as a soft moan leaves her lips.
My dick is hard and pressing against her soft folds. Savannah lifts her hips and grinds against it, allowing me to slide between her lips, spreading her wetness. Without warning, she lifts up and gets me right into place. Feeling her slide down my hard dick has my eyes rolling into the back of my head. She’s so hot and tight around me. I swear, sliding back into her feels better than a drink of water after being lost in the desert. She’s worked her way into my veins, into my brain, my heart and soul.
It’s hard to imagine how things would be right now if we hadn’t pretended to be together. I’ve never been more thankful that life has brought me to where I am now. I know that—without her—I would still be lost in the darkness. I thought I was moving to Georgia to escape the painful memory of losing Tracy. Now I see that it had nothing to do with Tracy at all. It was already written in the stars for us. I know now that Savannah is my other half. I was created with her in mind. We were made as a pair with our only goal in life to find one another. Now that we have, I’m never letting her go.
The two of us take turns on top until neither one of us can move. I watch as she drifts off to sleep. She’s like a beautiful angel with her red hair fanned out across the pillow around her. Her long lashes are touching her cheek and her plump lips are pooched out. She takes my breath away every single day.
I get up and blow out all the candles, so I don’t set the house on fire, then I clean up my mess in the kitchen. It’s around midnight by the time everything is cleaned up, so I grab a beer and head to the couch. I flop down and turn on a game. Minutes later, Savannah comes into the living room, wearing my shirt. She sits at my side and rests her head on my shoulder.
“I thought you were sleeping.”
“I was, but I woke up and you were gone.”
“I had to blow out the candles and clean up the kitchen. Just decided on a beer and an old game before bed.”
Savannah takes my beer and has a drink before handing it back. “Wanna make a wager?”
“On an old game?” I ask.
She smiles and nods.
“Alright. What do you want to bet?”
“If I win, we get married in Colorado. If you win, you pick.”
“Alright,” I agree.
She picks the team she wants, and I get what’s left over. The baseball game we’re watching is at least twenty years old. There’s a pretty good chance I’ve already seen it, but I don’t remember the outcome. Not that it matters anyway. I’ll let her pick where we get married either way. This way just makes it more fun.
The two of us sit up for hours, rooting on the game. In the end, she wins.
“Yes! I knew it!” she says, bouncing up and down.
I laugh. “You’ve seen this game before, haven’t you?”
She shrugs. “Maybe a few times.”
“You know, I would’ve let you choose where we have the wedding either way, right?”
Savannah smiles. “I know, but I had more fun watching you lose.”
I laugh and shut off the TV. “Come on. Let’s go to bed. We have lots of work to do.”
“Like what?” she asks, taking my hand.
“Like, putting my house on the market, packing my stuff, bringing it over here, unpacking again.”
“Ha! I already helped you unpack once. You think I’m going to pack and unpack again?” She jumps into bed.
“Yep, if you want me to move in here, anyway.”
She smiles. “I love you, Ben.”
“I love you, too, Savannah,” I reply, wrapping my arms around her and pressing a kiss to the top of her head as I pull the blankets up around us.
