Her eyes turned to slits. “What makes you think because I have Native American blood that I know what you’re talking about? I have blood, but if I recall, you told me that you didn’t. With that being said, why would you be aligned to a pack if you didn’t have the characteristics of the other members of the pack?”
“Elodie, what characteristics would I need to be a member of a pack? Let’s get to it, so we can say what we need to, make the decision to still be together, shower, and fuck.” I was ready to get in some pussy. I hadn’t been in it since this morning.
Her stone face expression gave nothing away. She turned her body toward me, then rested her arm on the top of the couch.
“According to folklore, there are tribes that have powers. Powers can vary. However, in the tribes, people with these powers are considered members of a pack. That power is transforming into a beast. The most common beasts that refer to themselves as packs are wolves.”
“Okay, based on that folklore information that you just gave me, what inference do you have when it comes to me being a member of a pack? Do you think it’s just a folklore or reality?” I inquired with an arched brow.
Her head dropped slightly to the side.
“My inference about you is that you are a wolf that belongs to Farad’s pack. You said that he was the leader. From what I feel, Thaddeus, Sebastian, and Jorie are also a part of that pack.” Her lip turned up into a knowing smirk.

“I’m confused. Wolves can sense other wolves. I have never sensed that you were a wolf and still don’t. You obviously didn’t sense that I’m a wolf.” She paused for a second. “Wait. You said you have no Native American descent. Your aunt married into the tribe. How do you have a beast?”
There didn’t seem to be any anger in this conversation. “You are right. I do not have Native American descent. From my Greek side, I possess a beast that this pack is familiar with because of my aunt.”
She threw her hands up. “Look. I’m not mad that you have a beast that you said nothing about because I get protecting something that people generally wouldn’t understand.” She tightened her eyes. “I understand! Now, what the hell is your beast before I do get mad?”
I burst into laughter. “You know, I planned to tell you about my beast tonight, even before I was told that you had a beast. I wasn’t sure how I thought this conversation would go. I cantell you that this was not it. I’m happy that there’s no anger, but I will have more questions after the fact.” I tittered when she gawked at me like everything that I just said meant nothing since I hadn’t revealed my beast. “My beast is a centaur.”
She hopped up from her seat. “Unh uh! Like the man horse! You shift into a fuckin’ horse?”
I stood from my seat. “Yes, I do. When was the last time you shifted?” When she told me she couldn’t even remember, it drummed up even more questions. “I want us to show each other our beast before we go any further in this relationship.”
Both her brows tried to kiss her forehead. “Say what now? Why? It’s not like I transform often, hence not transforming in a long time. You should show me your beast though. It’s clear that you’ve seen wolves, but I have never seen a centaur.”
“Yes, I’ve seen wolves, but I haven’t seen your wolf. I need to see her so that if anything ever happens and you do shift, I will recognize her. I don’t possess the telepathic ability to speak to the pack unfortunately. Also, I’m not showing you shit until you show me something, Ellie,” I told her. I was solid with that decision.
Her arms dropped. “Orion, I haven’t shifted in forever. Do you know how much it will hurt if I shift? Are you going to run me a bath to soak in and give me a full body massage?”
My arms wrapped around her to pull her into me. I kissed her neck.
“Of course I will.” I kissed her again. “Are you going to show me your beast? I know she’s gorgeous just like you.”
She blushed before she turned her head away from me. When she turned to face me again, a fragile softness danced in her eyes. I’d never seen it before. Her beast must have been the wall that she had up that I ran against sometimes when we went into our deep conversations about ourselves. Would her wall be torn down if she introduced me to her beast?
“How do you want to do this?” That was her only question. I loved that.
I told her that we’d go in the backyard to shift. We would shift one at a time since she wouldn’t be able to communicate with me in her beast. The agreement was that she would shift first. I decided to send a text to a group chat that Sebastian, Thaddeus, Farad, and I had.
