She imagined him torturing her for an hour, her begging and frustrated and on the verge of tears. But then she’d orgasm, harder than ever before in her life, and she squirmed just imagining it.
Hayley was about to suggest he should try again when her stomach growled, the traitor.
Nathan frowned. “We haven’t eaten in a while.”
Maybe she should brush it off and challenge him again. And yet, it was as if the first rumble had switched her brain from lust to hunger, because now she was starving.
As her stomach growled again, Nathan sat up and gently pulled her with him. After kissing her cheek, he said, “Let’s make something to eat and get you some tea. We also need to talk about what to do tomorrow. That way, we can kill two birds with one stone and free up time for later.”
He didn’t need to spell out what later would entail. She nodded. “Tea first, then food.” His lips twitched, and she added, “Don’t try to stand between me and my tea, Nathan Woodhouse. It won’t end well for you.”
Laughing, he stood. Since he hadn’t brought any clothes and they weren’t in the room they’d slept in before, he merely stood naked. Hayley’s gaze kept traveling south.
He snapped his fingers. “Eyes up here, love. If you keep staring at my cock, we’re not going to get anything done.”
She met his gaze again. “Nothing?”
He groaned. “Now who’s the tease?”
Chuckling, she stood and reached for her bra. As she put it on, she said, “Just wait until I have a turn, with you at my mercy.”
“You’re going to kill me one day, love, aren’t you?”
Unable to resist touching him, she ran a hand over his chest. “And you’re going to enjoy every second of it.”
He hauled her against his body and lowered his nose to where her shoulder met her neck. His words were muffled as he said, “More than anything else.”
Wrapping her arms around Nathan’s back, she merely enjoyed the moment. So far, everything pointed toward them working as a couple and having a future together. True, it was still early days. And yet, she’d never felt a connection with a man this quickly, or felt so at ease so early.
The real test would be once they returned to the surface. Only then would they find out whether their connection was forged out of necessity, being the only two people in the bunker. Or, ifit truly would become more, and maybe one day end in a mate-claim frenzy and Hayley becoming a dragon’s mate.
Chapter Seventeen
Nathan probably would’ve held Hayley in his arms for an hour if not for her stomach rumbling again. The sound had snapped him into action, and he’d left to get dressed while she did the same.
As he finally switched on the stove in the kitchen and waited for the water to boil—so he could warm up the ration pouches—his dragon spoke up.Do we really have to try so hard to leave the bunker complex? I want to spend more time with Hayley. Alone.
I know what you’re thinking, but I won’t subject Hayley to staying in her own personal hell longer than absolutely necessary.
When she’s with us, she’s fine.
Unless she’s asleep. Besides, I won’t have a frenzy down here, leaving her with no chance to escape. So if you want that to happen sooner rather than later, you’ll help me find a way back to the surface as soon as possible.
I suppose. But we should definitely make her come again tonight. Her taste is addictive.
Before he could reply, Hayley walked into the kitchen and went straight for the already warm tea kettle. He’d readied the mugs earlier with tea bags, so after she poured the hot water into them, she leaned against the counter. “So, what’s the gourmet offerings for tonight?”
Mentally, he let out a sigh of relief. A small part of him had worried things would become awkward. “A kind of stew.”
“I don’t suppose you have bread to go with it?”
“There are supplies to make bread. Are you offering, Miss Star Baker?”
She smiled. “I wish I could go on that show and try to win. But regardless, baking bread is fairly easy.”
“Hmm, maybe you could have a baking competition on Stonefire. That could be fun.”
Her face lit up. “That would be brilliant. Especially if we can do a human and dragon event together.”
