“Hmm?” Mom looks up, eyes slightly glassy.
“Nothing,” I smile sweetly at her. “Stomach just grumbled. Hungry.”
“Should be soon,” she says absently before taking another sip and focusing back on her book.
I keep my hand still and lean into his ear. “You’re being so fucking good for me,” I say in a barely-there whisper.
I sit back just before Gramps places a platter of delicious-looking grilled cheese sandwiches in front of us. As soon as we eat, I’m taking my boyfriend back to my bed. Because although we may have just met a month ago, there’s an entire lifetime we missed out on.
We may have started this whole thing as friends with benefits, but that was just a ruse—a farce. He was in my air space from the beginning, flying undetected, and we were going to collide sooner or later. It was inevitable. Our collision of souls. Two people meant to be in each other’s lives from the beginning.
And there’s nothing left to do but make up for lost time and love him with every fucking fiber of my being.
EPILOGUE
LINC - ONE YEAR LATER
“Igot an A on my Molecular Biology exam!” I exclaim, bursting into our dorm room and slamming the door shut behind me. I set my helmet on the small corner table next to Remi’s. Mr. Keller surprised him with a matching black moped for his graduation present, and they’ve been the perfect fit for campus life. It’s different here—not like high school. No one cares. No one judges us. We can be gayandride mopeds.
“Of course you did. You get As in everything you do, Preppy. Including sucking cock,” Remi teases, and I blush at his dirty words, loving when he talks so filthy.
We decided we wanted the full college experience. We’re not missing out on anything. So even though neither of usneedsto be cramped in this tiny dorm room together, sharing a bathroom, wewantto be.
He said he’d follow me anywhere, so it was up to me to choose our college. Well, that and his grade point average. But thanks to his awesome student advisor and the additional AP science classes, it was pretty high. Remi had no problem getting accepted, and I couldn’t be more proud of him.
We ended up staying in North Carolina, but on the opposite end of the state from our parents. I enrolled in the Marine Biology program at a private coastal college, forgoing Columbia and my parent’s desire for me to get a business degree. Remi chose to pursue his degree in Exercise ScienceandBusiness, following me to the beach.
We love it out here; it’s impossible not to. Grady and Sierra fell under the spell of this place’s charms when they helped us move into our dorm room. And now they can’t see themselves anywhere else. Much to their parent’s dismay, I’m sure.
For now, Remi and I are just taking things day by day. We don’t need to have the rest of our lives planned out at nineteen. We have our whole futures ahead of us. And it’s not up to anyone else what we decide to do with those futures. But we aren’t turning our backs on the family businesses. That wouldn’t be smart. What wewillbe doing is running them the way we want, when we want, and investing in projects that we’re passionate about.
Remi and I encouraged Mr. Keller to hire new people and start vetting the Keller teams before high school even ended. Turns out therewascorruption. The northeast team was siphoning profits and funneling two percent into offshore accounts, which may sound small, but from the massive collection of businesses they were managing, it was in the millions. There’s no recovering those losses, but the head of the snake has been severed, and Keller Industries is continuing to flourish. And until Remi is ready to jump in, Otto and Sterling have stepped up, helping Mr. Keller get a better handle on everything—supporting him and assisting in the decision-making. He needs people who care about him, who he can trust, and that’s the four of us.
As far as my family business, my parents continue to do well, still chasing after Mr. Keller and his companies. They’re more than ever determined to get a piece of the pie, but until Remi and I get married, they’ll probably continue to chase their own tails.
Mr. Keller doesn’t trust them. And neither do I.
But hedoestrust Remi and me. So when we take the reins, we won’t let him down.
“How was your Anatomy exam?” I ask, plopping down on his twin-sized bed while he mashes buttons and kills hordes of zombies.
“Think I aced it. Want me to show you what I learned about the human body, Mr. Advisor?” He tosses his controller to the side as his character goes down in a swarm of bloody faces and gnashing teeth.
He rolls on top of me, pressing my body into the bed with his full weight as he cages me in with his forearms. Remi’s gotten more ink since high school, adding the silver pocket watch his grandfather gave him, the chain wrapping around his forearm. I kiss his neck, trailing my tongue up the new designs on his neck and loving how sexy he looks.
His grin is crooked and captivating. “I can show you where your prostate is.” He leans down and licks at my mouth. “In case you forgot.”
My head bobbles so fast that I get dizzy. “I forgot. I definitely forgot.”
Remi chuckles, leaning in to kiss me deeply. “I fucking love how eager you are for ass play,” he growls into my mouth.
I am. I’m completely obsessed with butt stuff. Anytime he touches me there, it inevitably leads to me shamelessly begging for his cock.
I open my legs, cradling him between my thighs, but there’s too much between us. Too many clothes.
“Off.” I tug at his T-shirt impatiently, and he pulls it over his head with one hand behind his neck.
My hands trail up the ripples of his abs, over his pecs, and around his shoulders. I’ll never get tired of feeling his muscles and touching his body because I never in my wildest dreams thought a boy like Remi would be interested in a boy like me.
