“Nope,” I reply, popping thep.

“Then how am I gonna drive us there?” He boops my nose with a smirk.

“Oh, um . . .” I didn’t think about that. “I can put the address into your phone,” I propose, really wanting to surprise him the way he has for me.

“I’d feel more comfortable knowing where I’m going.”

Guess he doesn’t appreciate a good surprise the way I do.

“Fiiine. We’re going to the mountains in Tennessee. It’s about four and a half hours away, so not too bad. I rented a cabin and booked us an appointment at the local spa.”

Shane wraps his arms around me, the best he can in this position, kissing the top of my head. “You didn’t have to do that, Tobes.”

“We deserve this trip, and we deserve to relax. Just three more days, and we can leave after classes on Friday.”

I can’t wait to unplug from the world and spend some quality time alone with Shane.

We’re about an hour into the trip, and I am so excited and slightly impatient to get there and see the cabin in person. I hope it’s as amazing as it looks online. Shane’s driving my Audi since it has all the modern features that his truck doesn’t have, making it safer and more comfortable for long trips.

I lean my seat back, fold my arms behind my head, and stretch out my legs. “Ahh,” I sigh contentedly. “I love not driving.”

Shane snorts. “I love you for not driving, too.”

“Hey,” I whine, giving him the side-eye. “That pole came out of nowhere. It wasn’t my fault,” I laugh, referring to my parking lot faux pas from last year that I can finally laugh about insteadof cry. Even though the damage was minimal, my parents weren’t happy, to say the least, and it only further drove the wedge in our relationship.

Not wanting to think about my parents for another second on this trip, I grab the bag of trail mix from the console between us and stuff a handful into my mouth. I check the map, making sure we don’t miss our next exit.

“So, I got you something,” Shane suddenly says.

“You and your surprises,” I tease. “Always trying to one-up me.”

“You’re the one whisking me away for a weekend getaway,” Shane says matter-of-factly.

“Touché. So, what did you get me?”

“You’ll see tonight.” Shane reaches over and gives my thigh a squeeze, allowing his hand to roam up to my crotch.

Blood instantly rushes to my cock, and I get hard in his hand, thrusting into it. “Shit,” I curse, knowing we have another three hours on the road, and I’m about to be left hanging.

I’m too easy.

Shane chuckles, fondling me through my shorts one last time before returning his hand to the wheel. “It’ll be worth the wait. Trust me.”

“I’m gonna take a nap,” I grumble, folding my arms across my chest and closing my eyes. “Don’t miss our exit.” I might be pouting, but he just left me horny and curious.Ugh.

Shane laughs again, and it’s loud and carefree with a little roughness around the edges. It’s magnetic and just for me. It’s officially my new favorite sound.

The cabin is everything I hoped it’d be and more. The back deck is nearly as big as the inside, with a hot tub, sauna, and a complete outdoor kitchen area that Shane got excited about. He ordered groceries as soon as we unloaded the car, insisting on cooking us dinner instead of going out, and I sure as hell won’t say no.

I’m currently lounging in the hot tub while Shane cooks our dinner on the large gas grill. My stomach growls at the delicious, chargrilled smells wafting my way while the soothing sounds of bubbling water and birds chirping fill my ears. It’s beautiful here, nestled in a lush green forest with picturesque mountains.

“I needed this,” I say with a sigh, leaning my head back and smiling into the warm heat of the sun. There’s something so rejuvenating about being in the mountains.

“Me too,” Shane agrees. “Thanks for planning this. It’s nice here.”

I crack one eye open, creeping on my boyfriend while he flips homemade kabobs without a shirt on. His skin glistens with a slight sheen of sweat, making his muscles look even sexier.

God, my boyfriend’s hot.
