Nodding, I followed behind her as instructed and spotted Snoh instantly. His back was to me, but I could spot that man out of a crowd of hundreds. My soul was alerted of his presence whenever we shared the same space. What I didn’t expect was to catch him removing a vile from his blazer. I grabbed the host by her arm before we got too close. I wanted to see what he was up to.

Popping the top, he poured half into his glass of wine and the rest into the one I assumed was for me. I cocked my head to the side with curiosity coursing through my veins. He planned on drugging me for whatever reason and to be honest, it sparked my interest as to why. If he asked for the pussy, I would give it. Drugging me to have his way with me wasn’t needed, although I didn’t mind it. Some would call it crazy, but I wanted him in the worse way.

“Should I call the police?” she asked in a hushed tone.

“No. Thank you for the escort. I got it from here.” I stepped around her and closed the gap between us. I spoke catching his attention instantly. “Snoh.”

He stood and gently brought me into his embrace for a brief hug. I inhaled his scent before stepping back. I occupied the seat he pulled out for me and got comfortable. There wasn’t a file, document, or briefcase in sight. I put two and two together with the quickness noting the only business we would discuss was us.

“You look beautiful as always,” he complimented.

“Thank you. That black looks good on you.” Any color that man wore looked good on him. He could do no wrong in my eyes.

I reached for the glass of wine intentionally just to see if he’d stop me or even have a hesitant reaction. He played it cool and didn’t bother to acknowledge it at all. I took several sips and tasted the drug immediately. I was a fan of red wine and tasted many over the years. This was not the way a cabernet or merlot was supposed to taste. However, I kept quiet and let whatever was fused with it settle in my body.

“I took the liberty of ordering ahead. I got you the blackened salmon entrée. When I proposed the steakhouse, your food palate wasn’t remembered. That’s my fault.”

“No worries and thank you. So, what’s the business venture you wanted to discuss?”

“We have all night to talk about business, London. We don’t have to rush into it,” he said grabbing his glass.

I watched him take a couple sips of wine before returning it to the table. I guess whatever he spiked us with wasn’t harming if he was willing to digest it himself. I let it go and continued on with the conversation at hand.

“I don’t have all night, Snoh. I have until my meal is finished and then I’m leaving. As much as I love spending the majority of my day around you, the evenings are mine and you’re selfishly taking more and more of my time away. That’s rude, don’t you think?”

Truthfully, I could listen to this man talk all damn day long. His voice was deep, rich, and soothing. He could talk me right up out my draws. However, I chose the snappy response because I figured that was something London would do. If I was all Lyric, he’d be eating me out on this table right now.

Leaning back in his chair completely, his eyes found mine and we shared a hardened glance that I didn’t see breaking anytime soon. I wasn’t sure as to what he was taking in, but I couldn’t help but admire his features. He was sculpted to fuckin’ perfection. My tongue could explore him from head to toe and still crave more. I was sure of it.

“Tell me why you won’t give me what I want, beautiful.”

“I give you everything youaskfor and do everything that’saskedof me. If I’ve ignored a request, please let me know what it is.” I knew what his wants were, but we were grown as fuck, and both knew closed mouths didn’t get fed.

Say it with your chest baby and it’s all yours.

His low chuckle sent chills through my body. I could hear his aggravation with me, but it only turned me on even more. Snoh was a man, and a confident one at that, yet with me, he cowered. It was like he was scared to be told no.

“You choose your words wisely and respond to me in ways that leave my mind wondering. Is it delusion, London?”

“I’m not sure I follow you. Delusion about what exactly?” I was testing him, and I couldn’t lie. It was fun doing so. That man was beating around the bush so much he was beginning to sweat.

“You and me, what are we? Don’t give me your professional answer, either. Give me the one you go back and forth about. Give me the one that keeps you up at night. What the fuck are we?”

“Two individuals who can’t go a day without thinking of how good it’ll feel to finally have what’s so goddamn forbidden.” My hands shot over my mouth in shock that I even let that slip.

What the fuck, Lyric? Why the hell would you admit that?

His gaze remained locked in on me and I was too stunned to speak or even retract what was said. I grabbed my belongings and shot up from my seat. He was right behind me with his arm snaking around my waist for the umpteenth time. I let him slide with it once and now it was his favorite thing to do.

“Nah, ain’t no running tonight. Tell me what’s good? You want to fuck a nigga, don’t you?” he questioned damn near in a whisper.

Without giving him the eye contact he deserved, I confessed with a simple, “Yes.”

Stop, Lyric! What the hell are you doing? Get the fuck away from him before you say something you’ll regret.

“Now?”

“Yes.”
