By the time I finished getting dressed, I sported a tailored suit that looked damned good on a nigga. Shit, if I was to toot my own horn right now that muthafucka would be loud as a bitch. Not too many men could rock mauve, but I was. Only because my lady, who wasn’t my lady, wanted to be in her princess era. Mauve and cream just flowed with my chocolate skin. I hit myself with a few sprays of baccarat and headed downstairs ready for the day.

The smell of turkey sausage and eggs couldn’t be missed. I hoped she put it on a toasted English muffin with avocado on the side.

“Grab a container and let’s roll. We’re going to be late if we sit and eat.” London came around the corner putting the jacket to her dress back on.

I nodded, grabbing both plastic containers and bottled juice while she grabbed my briefcase and her purse. We headed out the door one after another. Her perfume was going to linger throughout my house until I returned. That small little thing was going to stay on my mind all day long.

My black-on-black Maybach was usually kept in London’s care during the week. She came to wherever I was, scooped me up, and we walked into the office side by side. There were many rumors that we were dating secretly, and I never cared to correct them simply because her name being attached to mine was all I wanted.

With the back door open and waiting, we climbed in one after another. “We’re ready, Thomas,” London softly spoke.

I got comfortable before pulling out the breakfast sandwich she made. She learned me fast and made it exactly how I’d hoped. On a toasted English muffin with three avocado slices to the side. I bit into it, and I swear it was like biting into heaven. London knew exactly what she was doing in the kitchen. I released a small moan and London offered a chuckle. She knew her cooking skills were like that.

“Victor wants you to sign for the deal he has with Author A’Niyah. She’s about to releaseCrowns and the Weight Under Them. I heard it’s a banger.”

“So did I. I have someone down in the manuscript department and they said it’s going to be a best seller no doubt. I got a long day?” I questioned. She was the only person that had an answer to that.

“Not so much, but it’s enough to be glad the workday ends at six. I got it covered though. Enjoy breakfast and we’ll get coffee on the way if you’re still up for it.”

A small grin graced my lips as I bit into my sandwich once more. I wasn’t a fool. She flirted with me just as much as I flirted with her. My flirtatious gestures were subtle though, while hers were loud and open. You couldn’t miss it. She was dangerous and if I wasn’t mistaken, she flirted solely to see me sweat. I didn’t mind, though. That was something she didn’t take into consideration.

The day passed by me as I sat in the house doing absolutely nothing. I had lost my job and looking at these four walls seemed to be the only thing entertaining. I hated seeing my sister leave every morning being productive. That used to be me at one point and now it was like pulling teeth just to get someone to call me back for an interview. Magnolia Valley had plenty of jobs but apparently none were hiring at the moment. Sitting up watching Love & Hip-Hop all damn day was starting to get on my nerves.

My alarm on my phone went off letting me know it was four in the afternoon. Another day where life or time didn’t slow down for me. With London being gone all day working, I handled the house duties. She didn’t have to lift a finger.

Releasing a deep sigh, I flipped to Pandora and let music flow through the crib as I got dinner started. Me and my sister lived in a condo downtown called Magnolia Towers. She landed a damn good job working at Ink Impressions as Snoh fuckin’ Harris’s personal assistant. I swear she had the luck I didn’t. Me, I couldn’t even keep a simple job at a coffee shop without gettingfired. I knew why though. I had authority issues and really hated being told what to do.

Her boss was the most handsome man I’d ever seen, and he treated her like royalty. Somebody had their wires crossed because he flirted with my full lesbian twin as if she was interested in him… in men. Every day she came home with a new story and new label from that man. All I wanted was a chance to be seen from him. I was smitten and my body tingled every time he was mentioned.

So tall, so chocolate, and so tatted. His dark brown eyes, thick brows, and full lips had my pussy purring anytime I thought about him. And as if that wasn’t good enough, he rocked a nose ring, bringing more attention to his face. With his fine ass towering over us, he had to be well over six feet. He checked so many boxes of mine it wasn’t even funny. That nigga had my mind blown since the first time I saw him pull up to get her.

At first, she had it with him coming to pick her up every day from work. That was until he got comfortable with her and now, she drove his Maybach throughout the week, picking him up. I couldn’t lie; I was envious of their relationship. She didn’t see him as a man the way I did. I noticed everything about him when I saw him. He stuck out that much to me. All I needed was an opportunity to be seen.

Pushing my thoughts of Snoh to the back of my mind, I began to cook dinner. London wasn’t a fan of red meat or pork, so we always went with something pescatarian. I did the fine dining when she wasn’t around.Marry Me Salmonover rice with squash and zucchini on the side. I could taste that shit already.

I grooved to the music as I moved around, doing my thing. It didn’t take me long to get dinner together. I taught London how to cook so I’m pretty much in my comfort zone. I needed baby sis’ to be able to feed her and her lover, whomever that was at the time.

Plating the food, I heard the front door open. Checking the time, I saw that it was 6:05 p.m. Snoh must’ve had a pretty easy day if she was home right at six.

“Big sis’ you got it smelling damn good up in here.” I was only two minutes older, and she never let me forget it.

“Thanks boo. I got something you’ll enjoy for sure. How was your day?”

She came around the corner stripping off this bomb ass mauve dress that hugged the hell out of her curves. Our mama wasn’t shit but she blessed us with a hell of a body. She snatched the clip from her hair, and it fell effortlessly across her shoulders. We were some bad bitches. Magnolia Valley had to give us that.

“My day was the same as it always is. Snoh flirts, buys me things, and always looks at me like he could eat me from sunup to sundown. I find it funny. Imagine hitting on a bitch and the only thing she thinks about is fuckin’ her girlfriend. If that nigga only knew he was shooting blanks. What I can say is that nigga did something out of the usual. He denied my fuckin’ vacation time.”

I knew my sister. She wasn’t thinking about Snoh the way he was her. Since the age of fifteen, London had been into girls and not just any girls, the feminine kind. The ones that’s so bad they make the niggas go crazy but don’t have an ounce of interest for them. My sister couldn’t care less about what a man thought about her.

“Did you give him a rundown again?” I asked, always curious about the things she said and did with him.

“Girl, name a day I don’t. I only do it because I know the nigga going to match me. He so obsessed with me it ain’t even funny, sis’. The man wants me bad and all I want is to enjoy my baecation with Alani this week.”

Her leaving would be the perfect door for me to step through and get some time in with Snoh. London took one vacation a year and when she did, she went completely ghost. She was unreachable until the day she flew back in town. I could use that to my advantage.
