“You said he denied your vacation time, right? Why would he do that all of a sudden? I thought he knew about you and Alani.”

“That nigga don’t know shit about my personal life. I’m being paid to know his business, not the other way around. I’m still going, though. I don’t care what that nigga talking about. The most he can do is fire me, and since we both know how bad he wants to sniff my draws, that shit won’t be happening no time soon. When I get back, I’m going to show up like nothing’s wrong.”

“Well, who’s going to take your place while you’re gone?” I questioned.

“One of my coworkers will step up. I don’t give a fuck who does it, all I know is, Sunday morning at seven I’ll be boarding a plane to Tulum. They can work all that other shit out come Monday.”

“Why don’t I take your place? I literally have all the time in the world and instead of sitting around doing nothing, I can fill your shoes. All you got to do is coach me over the weekend, and I’ll have it by Monday.”

She looked at me like I was crazy, but I was dead ass serious. With her gone, I could fantasize about the positions me and that man could be in, in peace. I could get intoxicated by his cologne freely and steal as many glances as I wanted without anyone thinking I was a creep. We could finally share the same space, and no one would assume a thing. It was perfect in my eyes.

“What? Girl, no. That man would be able to spot the difference quick,” she said laughing and waving it off.

“No, he wouldn’t. We are identical twins and there’s nothing on you that’s not on me besides Alani’s name. It’s the perfect plan and you’ll still get a free check.”

“I’m salary, Lyric. The check don’t change no matter how many days I take off.”

“Well, let me do it out of boredom, then.” I never told a soul how I felt about Snoh, not even London. I didn’t want or need the judgment. He was my little secret.

“Let me eat and think about it.”

“Oh, come on, London. I’m tired of sitting in this damn house every day. Just tell me what to do and I’ll do it. I’m a fast learner, you know that. You say he’ll spot the difference, but I say he won’t even notice. Just let me do this, please,” I begged.

“Fine. I’ll write down everything you need to know tonight and have it ready for you in the morning. I’ll make everything pretty detailed so you shouldn’t need me. I don’t mind you wearing my shit, Lyric, but please don’t stain it. You eat and drink so messy.”

“Fuck you, bitch. Before you got all them labels, you were the same way. But I got you. I’ll take care of your shit,” I said grinning from ear to ear.

“Why you making me feel like I done fucked up?” she asked squinting and dipping her brows. She gave me that look like she needed to change her mind ASAP.

“I don’t know. Must be your nerves. Anyway, come eat with me so I can run out and do some last minute things.”

“Like?” she asked with curiosity in her eyes.

“Fix myself up. I need to do something to my nails, hair, and feet over the weekend so I can look professional Monday morning. Also grab some perfume or oils. I just need to shop a bit sis’.”

“Ooouuu! I want to go. Snoh gave me a few zeros today. It’ll be my treat.”

“You sure?” I asked with a raised brow. Normally, her extra money was spent on Alani. This was new.

“Yeah. You’re my sister, bitch. I can spend bread on you the same way I do my girl. It ain’t shit to a boss,” she said making the money gesture with her fingers. I couldn’t help but laugh. She had a silly side to her many didn’t see.

We ate giving small talk. The entire time, I fought tooth and nail to contain my excitement. London thought nothing of it because she saw nothing in Snoh, but he was a man to me. The perfect one to be exact. He invaded my thoughts so damn much I had wet dreams about this man. He was more than a crush.

Many times, I wanted to bring London lunch just to see him, but she kept me away from that place at all times. She didn’t want her coworkers knowing she was a twin for whatever reason. I respected her wishes and kept my distance. However, now I could literally walk in her shoes and engage with Snoh whenever I pleased. Him spotting the differences between us was slim to none.

Flirting back and making him stand on whatever he said to me would be the only difference. I refused to turn down anything he threw my way. If it was a simple touch, I was going to make him take it further. If it was a simple brush against me, I was going to make him stand up in this shit moments later. I wasn’t turning down that man in any way. London had a position that should’ve been mine from the jump and now I could play it comfortably.

SNOH

“Snoh. Snoh, wake up before we’re late.”

London.

Her voice was going to push through whatever I was doing. I peeled my eyes open, and she stood over my bed with the features that brought me to my knees. Seeing her the first thing in the morning was exactly what I needed to start my day off right.

“What time is it?” I questioned groggily.
