“Bottom floor. There’s one apartment down there. Two on each of the other floors.Five floors. There are only three of us living here right now, though.”He put his key in and opened the door to his apartment.“This is my place.”

“Welcome to my parlor, said the spider to the fly.”

He laughed.“I’m not so bad.”

She let her gaze slide from his head to his feet and back up again.“I’m betting you’re very good.”

He watched her walk in and move across his living room to the large desk he kept in the corner.

“Nice setup.”She nodded toward the computer that took up most of his desk.

“Help yourself,” he offered then thought of Jack’s earlier comments.“Nothing illegal, right?”

She grinned and pointed at her computer bag.“You’re safe.Promise.”

He watched her long legs as she made her way to his dining table and set up her laptop there.“What do I need to know to log into your network?”

He spouted off the information.

“I’m in.Thanks.”She sat down, and her fingers moved across the keys.

“Want anything to drink?”

He dropped her bag by the end of the couch and glanced her way.Already absorbed in whatever she was doing, she didn’t even hear him.He went into the kitchen and grabbed a couple of bottles of water. He set one on the table, but she didn’t even look up.It was a little disconcerting the way he no longer seemed to exist for her.He moved to the couch and debated for a few minutes about whether to turn on the TV.

His cock ached.Maybe, some mindless movie would help him put his thoughts on something other than grabbing Honor and taking her to his bed.He sighed as he adjusted his position to accommodate the hard-on that wouldn’t deflate. It was going to be a long night.

Chapter Four

Honor had found it.Holy shit.It all made sense now.She yawned and stretched then shut down her laptop and stowed it back in her bag.Her back ached, and her neck had a kink in it.

Quiet filled her ears, and she glanced around. She saw the top of Griff’s head by the arm of the couch. She stood, stretching, and almost fell over in her shoes.Hell, she’d been so consumed with finding answers she’d left them on.

She kicked them off now, flexing her toes and curling them into the carpet as she walked over to the couch. He was asleep. He looked so peaceful and content. She wanted to wrap around him and find a few hours of sleep herself. What time was it anyway? She glanced around but didn’t see a clock on the wall anywhere. She blinked a few times and tried to smother a yawn.

She trailed a finger down his cheek and found herself grabbed and rolled under him on the couch. She had enough time to gasp before his mouth took hers in a kiss that seared her from head to toe.Her nipples ached, becoming stiff points that rubbed against the lace of her strapless bra.Her belly contracted, and her sex grew damp with desire. It had been too long since she’d been with a man.Way too long.

“It has to be morning,” he mumbled.

“What?”

“Morning. It must be morning by now.”

“God, I hope not.I could use a few hours of sleep before heading in to see Mr.Madigan.”

Griff lifted his arm and glanced at his watch.

“One.”He looked down at her, and a slow grin spread across his face. The hand at her hip continued to rub and squeeze, and she was certain he was using the motion to pull up her dress.“So how about today?”

“Today?”She was starting to feel like a parrot.“What about today?”

“You said we were going to have sex, and it would be incredible. But it wouldn’t be last night. It’s morning now.And you woke me from the most erotic dream I’ve ever had.”

“Yeah?”She smiled. He was entirely too cute.

“One in which you played a starring role.”

“Dreaming about me already?”No way was she sharing the fact she’d had a few dreams about him since she’d compiled her file on him and seen how incredible he looked.
