I came again.

“Vadric! Stop. That’s too much. Ah!” My fists curled on his abdomen as I shook, gritting my teeth through the fresh waves of pleasure. He didn’t let me go until I stopped shaking, giving a few last, long strokes of his tongue, groaning as he savored the taste.

All my strength gave out. My limbs trembled, and as I fell over, Vadric caught me. He tucked me into his side in a blur. I didn’t even know I was there until I opened my eyes.

“What?” I squirmed, but Vadric tightened his arm around me, laying my head on his chest. Listening to the steady pound of his heart, I felt him toss the blanket over both of us and blocking out the chilly night air.

“Go to sleep, little one. Before I decide to fuck you and tear you to pieces.” It was a threat, and I know it shouldn’t have excited me, but it did. Made worse by the low snarl in his tone. My heart palpitated, and if not for the exhaustion hitting me like a brick wall, I might have bolted. Or asked him to fulfill that threat.

“Maybe next time,” I sleepily mumbled, my heavy eyelids closing on their own. The last thing I heard was Vadric’s abrupt bark of laughter as I fell asleep cradled against him.

Twelve

Something iron clashed against stone. My ears twitched, and my eyes snapped open. At once, I knew it was the sound of the dungeon door slamming open. Heavy boots thundered over the ground next, and my entire body tensed.

Then I felt her in my arms. The delicate little human woman. She was completely naked, and my hand brushed over her backside, feeling her impossibly soft skin.

How was she so soft?

“Vadric!” Knox hissed through the empty air. The little one stirred against my chest under the blanket at the commotion, groaning at being woken in the middle of the night.

Knox emerged from the darkness, carrying with him a sense of urgency. He had an extra sword in his hands and stopped in his tracks when he looked down at me in the bed with the human’s bright blonde hair just barely sticking out of the blanket.

Shit.

“Oh, you’ve got to be joking.” Knox rolled his eyes and dramatically shrugged. “You’ve been down here with the human for a few days, Vadric.”

“Don’t start that with me,” I snarled back. “Need I remind you of what happened with Ilya?”

“Please don’t.” Knox’s face scrunched up as he groaned back.

“What’s going on?” Mina squirmed against my chest, lifting her face to look at me. Her green eyes and rose petal lips entranced me instantly. I wouldn’t have minded staying here longer just to look at her.

To taste her. To fill her.To tear her apart.

Gritting my teeth, I slid her off my chest and rose from the low bed. There wasn’t any time for me to stay here and think about the human or the delicious taste of her blood and cum. Even though I could still clearly taste her on my tongue.

Mina rubbed her eyes as I snatched up my boots. She sat up and gasped when she noticed Knox towering near the bed, and pulled the blanket higher over her chest, shielding herself. The corner of my mouth twitched down as she covered her porcelain skin from my gaze.

“We need to leave now, Vadric, while the city sleeps. Everything is in place.” Knox interrupted my thoughts, pulling my attention back to him. I took the sword from Knox and strapped it around my hips without replying, eyes still lingering toward the bed.

We needed to leave now while everything was ready. One second too late and we could miss our chance to get out of the city. “Alright, let’s go.”

“Vadric?” The gentle, lilting tones of her voice pulled me back. Knox saw my pause and growled, looking between me and the little one in my bed.

Mina was so small and fragile. The only human in this world, and if I left her, someone would hurt her. Just the thought alone made my face twist and a terrifying growl slipped through my lips. I couldn’t leave her here alone, and something deep in my mind wanted to keep her. To explore her further.

I twisted back to Mina cowering in the bed. Her frightened, bright eyes flicked between me and Knox. Then she saw the sword on my hip and shrank back.

“We have to go, Vadric! Now!” Knox repeated, and if he said one more word, I’d throw him through the wall.

“Mina,” I grabbed the black dress at the end of the bed and tossed it at her. “Get dressed. We’re leaving now.”

“What?” Mina and Knox said at the same time.

“I don’t have time to explain, little one.” Crouching down, I got on one knee and cupped her little face in my palm. So small, I could crush her with my hand. “Come with me.”
