“I may know someone who can find something out.”
“This is why I love you so much.” I grinned, kissing his lips.
Chapter Twenty-Six
Charlie
“Morgan.” I smiled when she stepped into my office. Getting up from my desk, I walked over and hugged her. “It’s great to see you. I was shocked when I heard you moved back to New York.”
“Charlie Stone. It’s great to see you too. It’s been a while.”
“Yeah, it has. Things didn’t work out in Seattle?”
“No. It was too rainy there for me. Besides, I met a guy, and let’s say he wasn’t who I thought he was.”
“I’m sorry. Have a seat, please. Can I get you some coffee?”
“I’m good. Thanks. So, to what do I owe the pleasure?”
“I need a favor.”
“Okay. What is it?”
“I need someone checked out.”
A smile crossed her lips. “Charlie Stone wants me to spy on someone for him?”
“It’s for my girlfriend.”
I told Morgan the story about how Marley and I met and about Troy.
“I want to meet her. She sounds like my kind of girl.” She grinned.
“Perhaps we can have dinner together.” I smiled.
“I’d love that. Write down the name of this Troy guy, and I’ll dig up everything I can on him.”
“Thanks, Morgan. I really appreciate this.”
“Anything for you, my friend.”
“By the way,” I said as she walked to the door. “I don’t want to know how you find out the information you’re going to find.” I smirked.
“No worries. You know I keep my secrets.” She winked.
Later that evening, as the elevator approached the penthouse, I heard music blaring. Stepping into the foyer, I walked into the living room to find Marley, Olivia, and Penelope dancing around the room to I Love It by Icona Pop and Charli XCX.
“Oh, hey.” Marley smiled, turning off the music.
“You three look like you’re having fun.” I walked over and kissed her lips.
“We were, McBillionaire.” Olivia walked by and patted his chest. “We’re going to go. Talk to you tomorrow.” She hugged Marley.
“Yeah. See you tomorrow.” Penelope hugged Marley. “Bye, Charlie.”
“Good night, ladies.” A smile crossed my lips. I grabbed the small remote, put on a slow song, placed my arm around Marley, and began dancing.
“Oh, are we having a dance, Mr. Stone?” She grinned.
