I raised my hand to knock on Dallas’ door and then pulled it back. This was ridiculous. I could sleep without needing to be with one of my men. Waking him up because I was tossing and turning wasn’t fair to him.
Hugging Draggy close to me as I turned to leave, I found myself face-to-face with Monroe, who was barely awake, from the looks of him.
“Hey. You all right? Do you need anything?”
“No. I’m fine. It’s nothing.” I was such a liar.
Dallas’ door swung open. “Hey. Why you still up?”
Monroe winked and kept on walking.
“I can’t sleep.”
“Me neither.” He took my hand and pulled me into his room. “I wish Daddy could stay over.”
The rules were important, but they were difficult on nights like this.
“Me too.”
I stepped into Dallas’ embrace. It was great, but he wasn’t Daddy. And today, I was really missing Ari. He’d been on a work trip most of the week, and we’d only seen him a few times. I didn’t like it.
Dallas didn’t, either.
“I have an idea,” Dallas said. “Why don’t we go surprise him?”
“It’s almost midnight.”
“That’s okay. Daddy says we are always welcome there.”
It was true. He did tell us that, and I really wanted to see him. So I pretended it wasn’t nearly as rude to show up this lateas I knew it was. The two of us grabbed our jackets and raced over there without even calling first.
Once we were standing at his front door, we texted, wanting to wake him up but not bother everyone else in the neighborhood by knocking.
We’re downstairs.
Ten seconds later, the door swung open. “Everything okay? Are you all right?” Great. We’d worried him.
I grabbed Dallas’ hand. “Everything’s great. We just…we missed you.”
He pulled us into his arms. “I missed you too, sweet boys.” He kissed each of our heads. “And thank you for coming, for trusting me.”
He closed the door behind us and fell into daddy mode. “You should be asleep.”
“It’s hard to sleep without you.” I wasn’t going to pretend otherwise. Daddy liked us being honest.
Dallas nodded in agreement.
His hand cupped each of our cheeks. “I’ve been meaning to ask you for a while, and this seems like as good a time as any. Why don’t you two move in here when your lease is up? Or now? You can keep paying rent there until they find new littles.” He really had thought about this.
This was the kind of thing you needed to think about, to process, to make sure it was exactly what you wanted and needed.
I did none of those, instead, blurting out, “Yes, Daddy. I wanna live here.”
At the same time, Dallas cried out, “Me too. Yes, please, Daddy.”
There was more to discuss. But once that decision was made, it was impossible for us to do so because we were too busy racing to the bedroom and chucking off our clothes.
Daddy kissed me first then Dallas. Both of us were breathless with need when we were done.
