Agnes stared up at him. With the cameras still rolling—and she’d never stop them in the middle of this—she wouldn’t dare confess that she’d allowed Lucy to come in and show him because of what it would do for the drama. She’d already said this morning: Coy wasn’t giving the fans enough of it in the final weeks.
“You said you cared about your guys,” he hissed at her. She flinched. He whirled around and stalked out of the movie theater.

The crew had preventedCoy from finding Bellamy when he arrived back at the ranch. Agnes wouldn’t listen to any of his pleas to go talk to her and find out what was going on. “Either you trust her, or you don’t,” she kept saying with a raise of her eyebrows. The next thing he knew, Agnes had waved a line in the contract at him about how she could restrict his contact with other members of the cast and had him on a flight to Denver to do promos.
Where, after two days, he was going crazy. Zane was with him every moment and Coy’s phone was still on lockdown. Every time Coy begged his best friend to help him out, Zane would hesitate and then shake his head.
“You might have the money to fight them when they sue for breach of contract, but I don’t,” he’d finally argued.
“I’ll take care of it,” Coy promised.
“You can see her in a couple of days. It’ll be better if you see her in person anyway.” Zane had chewed on his bottom lip and then added, “Agnes is right, Coy. Either you trust Bellamy, or you don’t. The only reason to hash this out now is if you think there’s actually something to this.” Then he’d waited for Coy’s answer.
“It’s not about trust. You’ve heard that interview. Please, man.”
With a long sigh, Zane gave up his phone. “This is a mistake.”
Chapter Twenty-One
Bellamy was havingCoy Jones withdrawals. He was back in Denver for a few days between his dates with Gillian and Charlotte and when he would come back to Little River to meet Bellamy’s family. She was pretty sure Agnes had done that on purpose to make sure she and Coy didn’t sneak around.
Denverwasonly six hours away…
But Bellamy had no idea where Coy even lived, and Agnes had probably sent a babysitter with him or something. She’d probably gone herself. It was all pure torture. He’d cleared his things out of Roxy’s house. He’d be staying up at the Ranch House for the two nights he was back in town before they flew out to South Carolina to meet his family. And with no guests booked for another few weeks, Bellamy had nothing to do at the Ranch House. Which was how she found herself hanging out at Roxy’s and watching the first episode ofThe Catchwith her.
“You think you’ll be able to watch the whole season?” Roxy asked as they settled on the couch. Tag had disappeared on a horse ride the moment they mentioned watching the show. Same as always.
“I don’t know. Ask me after I’ve had to watch myself on camera. Or after I’ve had to watch Coy make out with Lucy one too many times.”
Roxy laughed. “Is it a first forThe Catchto have someone sobbing in the middle of the draft ceremony?”
“Ummm…” Bellamy squeezed her eyes shut in concentration. “Aria,” both she and Roxy said at the same time.
“Jack Wright’s season.” Roxy whistled. He’d been a swimmer.
“Mmmm-hmmm.” Bellamy nodded.
It was surreal to watch as the show started, to see the first day, cringing when Lucy kissed Coy right off.
“Ugh.”
Roxy just laughed. “You would have loved it any other season.”
“Ugh.”
And even though Bellamy had already sent the recording of Willa singing “Roxy’s Song” to Coy, they both laughed non-stop through the whole thing. Roxy held out a package of licorice toward Bellamy. “We have to eat one every time they refer to Taggart Dubois.”
They’d already dropped his name at least half a dozen times in the introduction of Little River. “We’ll gain a hundred pounds.” Bellamy went into the kitchen for sodas for them both when Coy’s make-out session with Lucy on the first day started playing. “Yeah, this might be the last one I watch,” she called to Roxy as she got glasses. She wanted to swear—not just food swears—every time Coy even looked at Lucy. She hated this show.
“Wow. She just got right to it, didn’t she?” Roxy said, sounding like she was in awe.
Bellamy closed her eyes in relief when the show finally moved to the confessionals with Coy and the women after the draft ceremony had ended. It was almost over. And she wouldn’t watch next week’s. She could not witness his date with Lucy.
Of course, she’d be with Coy, so it might be different watching it with him. Cuddle up with him. Distracting herself from his lips on Lucy’s by doing a little kissing of their own.
“Oh, my gosh! It’s you!” Roxy’s excited voice brought Bellamy out of her daydreams.
