“Yes, and you?”
“Andy’s cousin, Brian. This is Grover and Lucky. Army Special Forces, on vacation.”
“I’ve got a man coming with reinforcements.” Finn said.
“We’ll be right back,” Brian said, and used hand signals to the other two. Without another word, they left the apartment, leaving Finn, Ronnie, and Andy alone. In less than five minutes they were back. Brian immediately grabbed three laptops from a case and fired them up.
“What was the location of the accident?” He got the coordinates and Ronnie was impressed by how fast his fingers flew over the keyboard. Five minutes later he looked up and called his friends over. As he pointed to the screen, they exchanged looks, then looked at Andy. “It’s bad.”
“How bad?” Both Andy and Ronnie asked as one.
“This guy? He’s on the FBI’s ten most-wanted list.”
“Why? What does he do?”
“Kidnaps women, sexually assaults them, then if he can’t break them, he sells them, but while he’s assaulting them, he contacts the families and demands millions of dollars in ransom. I don’t have to tell you that none of the women he’s abducted have been recovered.”
“FUCK!” both Ronnie and Andy yelled.
Chapter 29
All the people in the room looked at Lucky as he held up his hand for silence. He had a phone to his ear. “Commander, this is Lucky, and you’re on speaker.”
“Okay, but why are you calling me on your vacation?”
“We have a situation here.” Ronnie noted his demeanor had changed to someone used to barking out orders.
“Where is here, and explain?”
“We came up to Montana to visit Brian’s cousin. Get away for our downtime. We just learned that Andy, the cousin, his girlfriend has been abducted. Brian was able to access street cams, and we saw the whole thing.”
“And?”
“And does the name Rio Santos mean anything to you?”
“What the fuck!” Came the cry over the phone. “Are you talking about one of the FBI’s ten most-wanted. Guy from Rio? Wanted in Mexico, Peru, and the US? Along with several other Mexican countries?”
“Yes.” Lucky said, and looked over at Brian. He read the note and nodded. “Brian just sent you an e-mail of the crash and abduction. He ran facial recognition before we called you. How do you want us to proceed?”
Ronnie looked at Finn with raised brows. These guys weren’t waiting around.
“Who do you have with you for backup?” The Commander demanded, and they heard him swear then call out for someone to come join him.
“There’s me, Brian, Grover, and two... no, three retired Marines.”
“Names, and ranks!”
Lucky held out the phone and let the others say who they were and what rank they had retired as. By the time they had gotten this far, Patch had joined them, along with Major.
“Okay, give me a minute,” he said, and everyone heard keys being pounded. In less than three minutes he sighed in relief. “Okay, good. Sergeant Major Larson, you got Major with you?”
“I do.”
“Good, okay, because of the severity of this asshole’s past crimes, I’m not going to order you to sit on your hands and wait for the locals to arrive. I trust every one of you. Do what you have to, but keep me posted. I’ll continue to gather Intel from here, and contact the proper authorities. Do you know how the locals are treating this?”
“Like it was just an accident,” Finn spoke.
“Okay, Brian send me what you have when you have it.”
