Harlee smiled, then she said, “Well, we finally meet in person.”
I smiled, then I winked at her, “Right.”
Then I waved at Everly, “Hi.”
She smiled back, “Hey. We need to plan a shopping trip.”
I looked at her cute top and instantly agreed.
Then Harlee introduced me to Lila, their friend, and Talia, Alec’s little sister.
Then she introduced me to Tatum. I smiled at her, then I asked, “What is it with the Griggs men not letting women pay for anything?”
Tatum tossed her head back and laughed, as had Talia and Harlee.
They invited me to sit with them, so I twisted in my seat, and tagged my beer, then I said to Birdie, “Pay in a little bit?”
She winked then nodded.
I was following them to the table as they were talking about what Sage, Tatum’s little girl, had done last week.
Same for Harlee and her four kids.
We were all sitting there, laughing, and I decided I really liked this group of people.
I had already met Garrick and Dom.
I also met Carter.
The only ones who weren’t there were Ethan and Alec. I had learned about Ethan from Harlee when she was telling me about the family she had married into. Oh, and Frank and Misty Griggs.
I had just opened my mouth to ask where Alec was when I heard it.
A voice I hadn’t heard in over a decade.
A voice that I missed.
“Wonder Girl,” I heard.
I spun around on my seat and gasped, “No way!”
Seeing Bronson there. Holy. Shit.
I jumped out of my seat and ran to him, who was smiling widely, and had his arms open for me.
The moment I was in his arms, he wrapped them around me and pulled me close.
“Fuck me, what are you doing here?” he asked.
I smiled, “I start work next week here. I’m going to work at Fusion.”
He pressed a kiss to my temple and lowered me to the ground. His eyes were smiling as he said, “You’re shitting me?”
I shook my head, “Nope. Totally not shitting you.”
Then I smacked his bicep, “What are you doing here? Mr. Beast?”
He laughed at that. “Well, after that last fight, it scared the hell out of me. Quit. Relocated here. Liked it. Got two kids now.”
