Chapter 30

Gwen

When I woke the next morning, I wanted to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming. But pinching would involve moving, and I was far too comfortable nestled in Drake's arms.

His chest was solid and warm, and his breathing was soft and steady against my hair. Was he awake?

Unsure, I remained completely still, enjoying the feel of his arms and the scent of his skin – cedar with a hint of musk.

Last night, we hadn't bothered with closing the curtains –orpicking up our discarded clothing. Instead, we'd fallen asleep naked and sated under the smooth covers of the luxurious king-size bed.

I stifled a happy sigh.What a night.

It had been pure perfection, and I didn't regret a single part of it.

Now, without moving a muscle, I could see big festive snowflakes drifting downward outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.

What a very Merry Christmas.

Okay, so Christmas was still over a week away, but in my heart, it surefeltlike Christmas morning – except in my case, I'd already opened my biggest gift, and it was something truly spectacular.

When I smiled against Drake's skin, he said in a low, sleepy voice, "You know what?"

I shifted against him. "What?"

"We should stay."

I pulled back to gaze into his eyes. "You mean here in bed?"

He smiled. "In bed. In the room. Whatever." His smile grew mischievous. "I could take you ice-skating."

I couldn't help but giggle. "Here in the room?"

He pulled me close. "No. In the park outside. It's what? Two blocks away?"

I laughed in his arms. "But I don't have any skates."

"So I'll buy you some."

"From where?" I teased. "The vending machines?"

"Hey, you letmeworry about that."

I couldn’t tell if he was serious, but Ididknow one thing for sure. Drake had done far too much already. Between the tickets to the ball and the extravagant suite, he'd spent more money during the past twenty-four hours thanI'dspent all month.

Plus, it's not like I'd packed any extra clothes, so ice skating was definitely out of the question – unless I wanted to skate in that sparkly red dress. The thought almost made me snicker as I pulled back to look at Drake.

His blond hair was tousled against the crisp white pillow, and his eyes were so blue they took my breath away. And then there was his chest, all chiseled and muscular, just like his arms and shoulders.

He looked so sexy that I felt a slow smile spread across my face. "I don't need ice skates. But do you know what I'dreallylike?"

"What?"

I felt my smile widen. "A repeat of last night."

"Oh, yeah?" His eyes lit with interest. "Starting when?"

My pulse quickened. "How about now?"
